Working for MI6

I had a senior member of staff from another department asking me do I have connection with the secret service? It is a strange question to ask, even though it is said in jest I probably knew why it was asked. My friend phoned me on my work mobile and he thinks someone is listening to my calls because of the echo. Must admit it does sound strange. I sure like to know how I could find out.
Anyway out of curiosity I check on the vacancies at Mi6. It is probably not glamorous and not much different than most public sector jobs upon reading the description. Has anyone ever considered a career there?
I work in IT, a few years ago I fixed a friend's PC, I was told then that an IT expert from the "service" had a look at it before I did and could not do what I did. I thought it was rather flattering )

You need to unplug the mains power and hold down the on/off button for 6s, then power up again

The IT crowd " Have you tried ...... "
Not real IT with field experience, unfortunately plenty around.
Up with a better way of " eavesdropping " these days ? Like Bourne making
A clone of the phone ? ( my knowledge only comes from films )
If you're suspicious about yourself being spied on my first question would be; why?
Unless you've been buying a few tons of ammonium nitrate I'd say you're not of any interest.
Oh and the first rule about applying for the security services is that you don't tell anyone, including family and close friends, so I'd say by putting that little idea on a James Bond forum would be a clear sign of you falling at the first hurdle )

**** that me crossed off the list. I'm a Kommie anyway )
To some people I'm a target, won't delve too much. You know the saying "Evil prevails when good men do nothing" and too many people were willing to do nothing because Mr Blofel had his hand in everything. Well Dr Evil has now been replaced for good and his goons is going thankfully, even double crossing agent 006 who is on my tail has now been demoted and likely to leave.
I've been in IT for decades and almost everyone is targeted in one way or another not just by the state but by the baddies too, some more than others especially one with an opinion that rocks the boat.

I can't remember what the job was but he told me the interview turned out to be for the secret service and took him totally by surprise when he was informed what he was really there for. I think he kind of bricked himself a little since in shock. He mentioned he was not allowed to tell friends or family etc and he didn't until he was notified that he was not successful after the interview process.
He is a pretty down to earth guy, very intelligent and works for the Police in London (well last time I heard from him) hence never really suspected his story to be bull. He used to get the mickey taken out of him as he had the most massive ears, huge nose, spots and was very posh. I think his old man was very high up in his day in the Army.
Anyhow if true he was certainly no James Bond and no lady killer
Sounds pretty much like our very own Thunderpussy ) ) )
(And I left out the "intelligent" part by purpose )
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Hang on to !
does that count for anything?
