The worst moments

What are the worst moments in the films? Here are just a couple of things I don't like:

- The awful effects used for the final Disco Volante scenes of Thunderball
- Ending to Diamonds Are Forever - Blofeld's demise seems very unsatysifying
- Slide Whistle in The Man With The Golden Gun
- Ending of the skydiving scene in Moonraker
- Gondala chase and double take pigeon in Moonraker
- Jaws falling in love in Moonraker
- Too many things to mention in Die Another Day
- Quantum of Solace - the whole thing is just a mess

Jaws falls in love is one of my favorite moments in the series :D

I cannot forgive the slide whistle or California Girls though. If you've seen rescores on YT, it makes both scenes so much more powerful. I love the campy tone of those films, but moments like that need to be played straight and suspenseful to emphasize the impressiveness of what is happening on the screen.

Bambi and Thumper is most embarrassing for me as a Bond fan.

    Tarzan yell in Octopussy

H TERESA K on her Amazon review of Octopussy DVD states:

"It does contain the best scene from the entire series. Bond swings from a vine and gives this terrific Tarzan yell."

Great to find somebody out there who loves the tarzan yell! :))

I've just always found that Scene a bit insulting to the long History that the Series has had with using real Stunt men doing real Stunts, in often dangerous Situations.

You're right of course, I love the Bond stunts and what makes them
All the more exciting is knowing that some brave stuntman is actually
    Doing it for real.
With the Windsurfing scene in DAD, you feel nothing as it's pretty obvious
    You're watching a cartoon. Terrible. :#

M dressing Bond down so well in Goldeneye . . . and then ruining it by saying "Do come back alive."
Bond "flying" to catch the falling airplane in Goldeneye.
    Boris in Goldeneye.
    Goldeneye.

Dr. Kaufman in Tomorrow Never Dies.
Nearly all of A View to a Kill.
Priscilla Barnes in Licence to Kill.
Taliso Soto in Licence to Kill.
Cary Lowell in Licence to Kill.
Any time Plenty O'Toole speaks in Diamonds are Forever.
Quick zooms and related campy fight music in On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
Connery in Frankensteinian yellowface in Your Only Live Twice.
Yellowface in general in Dr. No (Dr. No, Miss Taro), though I can sorta reconcile that with how many of the characters in the novel are bi-racial).
The obviousness of the glass plate in the spider scene in Dr. No. (I normally forgive questionable special effects, but this was such a low-tech thing to muff up.)

Completely agree. Bond is famous for its stunts, using CGI instead is insulting. What makes it worst is that people in editing saw it and thought, "Yes, that looks great".

With all due respect, gentlemen, he plays it too campily. And I like Vincent Schiavelli and the idea of Kaufman. It's the interpretation that makes me cringe.

I'm not very fair to Goldeneye -- there are parts I really like, such as the bathhouse confrontation, and Brosnan nails it (for his version) when he does the Bond, James Bond line for the first time. I like the Bond girl, too.

Priscilla Barnes's mannerisms and inflections always grate on me like fingernails on the chalkboard -- she's so abrasive, she could play Hillary Clinton. That's not a political commentary but a Hillary Clinton one. I like Carey Lowell and enjoyed her in Law and Order, but her Ms. Kennedy just seemed to "in your face" and unappealing -- a friend used to call her "that horse." Taliso Soto is better seen but not heard.

Haha, he was. I thought tonally it wasn't right for the scene, where Bond is supposed to be grieving over the death of Paris. To me, it should have been played straight, menacing. My girlfriend at the time rolled her eyes and said to me in the theater, "Dr. Kaufman. Dr. Coffin. I get it."
