What Other Characters Should Be Brought Back?

Under the premise that the current Bond film series is a reboot, what other classic Bond characters do you think could be successfully resurrected? We've already seen the re-introduction of Felix Leiter in CR, and Q and Moneypenny in SF. With Blofeld and SPECTRE returning soon, it begs the question, what other characters long since come and gone might be ripe for the rebooted Bond?

My first pick: Alec Trevelyan, 006. It would be mistake to bring back Trevelyan as a villain again, but what about as an ally? I think it'd be interesting to pair Bond with another Double-O for part of a new mission, especially if he were a slightly more menacing, more violent agent than Bond. Trevelyan could be re-introduced as just such an agent, and perhaps played by a British (or even American) actor that would otherwise be a left-of-center choice for Bond. Off the top of my head, James McAvoy, Jack O'Connell, Richard Madden, or Tom Hardy would all be great as the new Trevelyan.

What or your picks? Which classic characters should or could be resurrected in the Craig and beyond era?

I agree with 006, it would be interesting to see Bond work with another 00 for a small portion of the film. Rather than just investigating the death of a 00, or going up against a rogue one.

I don't want key characters from the original Bond series to return, like villains and allies that were integral to the stories. Blofeld would be an exception since he was in many films. One of my favourite regular characters I'd like to see return is the Minister of Defence. Mallory was like that character in Skyfall, but now that he's M they need someone else.

I would like to see a M:I style Bond film, where he works with Q and another 00 agent on a mission.

Ultimately I agree with you Matt S. I started this thread as more of a "what if" scenario.

You can bring back Blofeld because he has been portrayed by several different Actors. But you cant with other Villains like Oddjob, Grant, Jaws or Nick Nack.

006 doesn't have to be Traelyean again. The numbers are given to all different agents, remember. It would be cool I fthe guy who used to have the 007 number fake his death and return as a villain - then you can have 007 vs 007!

I think the evidence indicates the DC Bond films are not a reboot. Reference the clues in SKYFALL, Q's statement regarding the exploding pen, Telling Moneypenny to take her hand away from her ear, the GF modified DB5. All indications are the timeline is intact, with CR & QoS being pre-Dr. No and SKYFALL post DAD. Cleaver, quite cleaver... But it does represent problems with bringing back characters. I personally would like to see Jeffrey Wright return as Felix Leiter, but the will need to deal with the shark attack. I'm also interested in how they deal with Mr. Hinx in SPECTRE. From the released stills, Dave Bautista, may make the most interesting henchman since Red Grant or Odd Job. Might be interesting if they would make him a recurring character, and then there's the Blofeld question. Has Blofeld been supplanted by Oberhauser? Will EON keep him around? Man, I really can't wait until November...

006 would draw too many comparisons to Trevelyan. Why not use a number the films haven't used, like 0011, and call him Cederic?

No offense, but hasn't this idea been beaten to death and a general consensus been reached that there is no logical way the Bond timeline could be intact in the manner you suggest?

No offense taken. Wasn't aware it had been beaten to death or that the general consensus so ignored the evidence, but to each his own.
