I collect vintage Corgi & Dinky toys and have a certain penchant for the TV & Film genre. Naturally this leads into Bond collecting although my biggest sections are Gerry Anderson and Batman.
I suddenly realised a couple of weeks ago that, with the exception of "Specials", I have a full set of the early Corgi models and thought I would share it with you.
I will post some other more recent models that I have over the coming weeks.

James Bond Collectors Club Limited Edition version of the Goldfinger Rolls Royce originally made by Solido and converted by a Model maker in Holland. First advertised in the November 1993 JBCC magazine at a price of £34.99, production was meant to be 100, but due to lack of availability only 35 were produced. Delivery was promised for February 1994 but arrived in April 1994.
This model should not be confused with latter gold round tube version, which seems to be more prevalent in todays market.

This is the first original Phantom that I have seen and I love the accompanying paperwork..........very important! I had the follow up copy by Solido but let it go. Please let me know if you ever want to part with it.
I have two of the Husky's and also this Juniors (easily found).
FYI The 261 in my main picture is the rare tan roof version - mint shop-stock that had possibly never been opened - the instructions are still sealed and the lustre of the car is magnificent..........here are a couple of pics.
Twizzle that tan roof 261 is as you say magnificent -{ ..... I have the other two boxed versions, the tan roof version is on my list.

I had seen that already, thank you - a fine collection and some very rare pieces. I have a friend who has a tan roof 261 for sale but I think he is asking a hefty price. I will PM you when he gets back to me.
I hope there are some Spectre goodies to come, especially the DB.10 and Jag. Eon often keep things close to their chest until just before launch, but they've been very open about those two vehicles so hopefully Corgi have them. It's the closest I'll ever come to owning either of those cars!
The DB5 new version (no 50th anniversary logo on the box) is now readily available at £19.99 but the gold one has sold out again.

Although it would be nice to get a little more information to the items pictured. How old is this Rolls? The letter says "The models arrived from Holland during the first week of April ..." but there is no year given unfortunately.
Like Twizzle, I have never seen this original version before, only the more common re-release in the golden tube packaging. One of those sold on ebay a few weeks ago for £120. (Just noticed that this version has a yellow bonnet.)

There was also a version in a black Solido box with added Goldfinger labels.
I have once read that the Solido model is not correct for the GF car as it is not a Barker body but from another coachbuilder (Park Ward?). But it certainly is close enough, bearing in mind that this was made long before the Corgi and JBCC versions.
This is a copy of the Corgi Juniors Lotus, made in India (or was it Pakistan?). The quality of these Maxwell models is not good but they are quite rare and so they sell for much more than the Corgi and Matchbox models from which they were copied.
I especially like that not only this model was "inspired" by Corgi but also the box art - the typeface was used in the 1979 to 1981 catalogues.

I was at the Sandown Toy Fair this morning and was very tempted (but resisted due to lack of knowledge) by a Corgi Aston Martin that had a sticker on as a limited edition version given away at the premier of DAD; anybody know anything of this model?
With regards to the DAD premiere Vanquish 2,300 standard Corgi boxed models had the black roundel with silver foil blocked type placed on them, each numbered individually and handed out as part of the goody bag to guests at the premiere.

Yes, that was it........what value would you place on it? 2.300 is a very large limited edition; higher than some of Corgi's standard production runs I shouldn't doubt!!
I would have said £20 max for the DAD premiere Vanquish, that's what I remember from past auctions. There is currently one with a £10 opening price with no bids yet, and one with a box in better condition sold for £17.
And A_A, thanks for the update - so it was 1994. And directly from the Department of Useless Information: the Solido Phantom III was based on a 1939 P III with bodywork by James Young, chassis no. 3DL192; the GF car is a 1937 with Barker body, chassis no. 3BU186.

Ah yes, I have seen your promotional pieces on here and the QDT blog. I will leave that area to you! I do have a spare tan roof 261 though if you are interested.
This time it was not even some obscure promotional model that was never sold in stores - no, this time it's a regular production item that must have been made in the thousands. And yet I had never seen this packaging before, and I also couldn't find a photo of the same blisterpack design anywhere. So, may I present the Corgi Juniors Extra 1001 James Bond Aston Martin DB6 in its final packaging from 1971/72:
Maybe you think you've seen this before - but the usual cards from 1970, although looking similar with the same illustration, are longer. This new version is the same size as the 1979 re-release no. 40:
This was the standard size for Juniors blisterpacks from 1971 onwards so it should not come as a complete surprise that the DB6 was also produced in this packaging - what is surprising is that no example had surfaced before.
Here with a standard Juniors release of 1971, the Aston Martin DBS (the closest Corgi came to producing an OHMSS DBS):
On the back are illustrations of the two OHMSS bobsleighs - I wonder if those two were also produced with the short card? We haven't seen them yet but who knows what's hidden away in collections? The 1002 Batmobile I have since found on this short card too.
The car itself is also very unusual: It is the only 1001 I have seen with clear instead of blue tinted windows. No - I had seen one before but it is the first where I have noticed the clear windows. Exactly this variation of the 1001 with 10-spoke wheels and clear windows is shown on the card of the later 40 Aston Martin.
I had known before that the 40 card does not show a photo of the 40 but the older 1001 with the large 10-spoke wheels, as the baddie figure and seat are clearly different. (The poor chap had his legs amputated during the redesign.)
I hadn't noticed the clear windows before although I would have assumed that the clear window insert for the 40 was used for that photo example. Now it looks like Corgi just took some 1001 DB6 they had lying around for the 40 card picture.
In good company (still missing a few variations).
