    Truthfully, my favourite Bond actor is usually the one I'm watching at the moment... more or less. But basically I watch the Brosnan movies more than any other ones. I just can't burn out on them (even DAD :o ).

    Pierce is the man. His Bonds to me have stood the test of time, and have grown on me more than when they were released. His non-Bond films are also a blast to watch.

    His Bond had a special coolness and he was great at looking like a gentleman spy.

    Pierce was almost as much fun as Moore, and almost as tough as Dalton or Connery. And he had the best hair of the bunch.
    His movies are straight up enjoyment. Nothing more or less.

    You said it yourself. A Bond who's "as much fun as Roger Moore" AND "as tough as Dalton or Connery" can't be good. Too unbalanced. The best hair...could be. Too long in GE though. But yes, he did look good.
    Like YOLT or TSWLM? not much, but at least those had a script, which TND lacks, and that's why I hate it with a vengeance. -{
    But I digress....this is a Brosnan lovers thread. He did indeed look good. A bit underweight in GE, but that's fine :))

    Back then muscle size & strength was the point- in MY time density of tissue & contraction/extension activation without the antagonism factor was prime.

    I like that Brosnan had a bit of humor, a bit of darkness, and a lot of class.

    Pierce for me is the quintessential spy. I can visualise him, and often do, in Craig's reboot quite easily. Pierce also has a great ability at little asides and gestures, (his double take at the cigar girl always makes me smile). He can do suave, charming, engaging, and could've easily had the iron fist in a velvet glove in the DC era.

    There's certainly something loveable about Brosnan. Probably the fact he's a good-looking guy who's pretty down to earth - and likes to play his roles with an air of ease, charm and confidence.

    TWINE is great for Brosnan because he's able to act a bit more, the whole film revolves around him actually having to figure out the psychological battles everyone is playing. He carries the film in an understated way. Between being played, playing everyone else and eventually winning. It's an awesome performance.

    Dante's Peak is probably my favourite Brosnan performance outside of Bond because he delivers the whole blockbuster - something that's tough to do. I used to like Thomas Crown Affair but on subsequent viewing - that movie's dated really badly.

    Same here. I love his performance, but the movie itself is just okay. I'm still a big fan of After The Sunset- not a great film by any means, just so much fun IMO. Same with Live Wire. Taylor Of Panama IS a great film, and he's truly great IN it, but I like seeing him as a better person in the movies. Of course, I REALLY like November Man (same director from Dante's Peak), but for me, his first three Bonds will always be my favourite Brosnan movies. :007)

    For me personally, Brosnan could seem to flip his intentions from being a cool, soft spoken gent. To a mean SOB in the same breath. It didn't seem forced it was just a very fluid motion. I believe he encompassed the best traits of the Bonds prior to him.
