How does each bond actor’s era rank with you by following these particular rules?
- Give each bond film a mark out of 10
- Total up each film for each actor
- Divide the actor’s total by how many films the actor did, i.e. find the mean score
Here are the results for me:

1st - Timothy Dalton
Film scores – 9 (TLD), 10 (LTK)
Mean score - 9.5

2nd - Roger Moore
Film scores – 10 (LALD), 9 (TMWTGG), 9 (TSWLM), 8 (MR), 10 (FYEO), 10 (OP), 10 (AVTAK)
Mean score - 9.428

3rd - George Lazenby
Film score - 9 (OHMSS)
Mean score - 9

4th (Tie) - Sean Connery
Film scores – 9 (DN), 8 (FRWL), 7 (GF), 7 (TB), 8 (YOLT), 9 (DAF)
Mean score – 8

I just used my overall ranking list of the movies and devided the list into these grades. (Top 5 movies score a 10) (Bottom 5 score from 5 to 4) etc...

Very intersting idea! And it's funny because I personally would have ranked the Bond's a slightly different. But I guess it does give an accurate display here! Connery is my favorite, but DAF really brought his mean score down :P - I'm happy for Dalton that he made my top place though, I think he will get some sweet deals in this thread

Yeah I'm still in desperate hoping to like it more someday though. I feel like the most controversial 'diehard' Bond fan for ranking a movie that is arguably the best adaptation of a Fleming novel so low. But I can't help it, there's just a lot I don't like about it. I am working on a video review in which I explain exactly how I feel about the whole film to give that statement a bit more validity..

Actually I enjoy DN & GF more, but FRWL is technically a much better made film.

Sadly, no Bond seems to break into my perfect 10... that's Blade Runner terrain.....

I won't deny that OHMSS isn't technically a good film either (Great cinematography etc). But I guess to me it goes to show that Novel Bond is very different to Cinematic Bond and the pages don't necessarily always translate into the best movies for me. FRWL was one of my personal best reads ever, but it is not my favorite Bond movie because of that. FRWL as a movie has it's dated moments like the Bond theme playing even if Bond is just tipping the doorman, or the rear projections in the canals of Venice and Bond throwing the film in the water and waving it goodbye. Just minor things, of course, FRWL is a movie I rank high nonetheless!

But OHMSS to me has a lot more problems, despite being based on a novel that is regarded high among fans.

I'll go by what I've seen in my Bondathon so far. This is by enjoyment, and is a relative ranking, so the numbers will change as I watch more films

Some bond films are a 10 for me, but I agree about Blade Runner, what a great movie!

The series is a definite 10+, it's just that no single film in it is my definition of an absolute masterpiece for me (FRWL comes closest).
