I'd have loved to have been in an audience when Q says "I think he's attempting re-entry, sir". One of the best double-entendres in cinema history.

I love how the security man at the airport in Moonraker quickly looks again at Jaws as he goes through the lounge. :))

    I probably shouldn't though. :))

Oh the entire cinema groaned (not in sympathy)
Yes, the reaction was more of a tired and not particularly enthusiastic acknowledgement that there was going to be such a line and that the line was delivered. Then people got up out of their seats and went home, neither shaken or stirred by the precedings.

I was 10 at the time. I can't remember the audience reaction. I know I didn't get it at all - so innocent :s

Really funny jokes (as opposed to excruciating puns) are fairly thin on the ground in Bond films, but I love the tuk tuk chase in Octopussy, with its nods to all the most clichéd aspects of Indian culture and its in-joke about Vijay Armitraj's background. The dénouement is unusually good too, with Bond using the money he won from Kamal Khan to make his escape.

Plenty of laughs in any Bond film.

Just one off the top of my head is in Goldfinger. Bond is in the jail cell and starts pacing towards the door and starts to wink at his guard.
He slides under the opening with the goofiest of smiles. The Korean guard takes the bait and pays the price.
Bonus points for the visual gag a few minutes later when Bond is back in his cell...watched over by 5 guards, studying his every move.

    Two come to mind immediately:

    1) Bond's exasperated "Just push every damn button will you!" to the moronic Goodnight.

    2) Carver mocking Wai Lin with the martial arts routine. To me, that is the single funniest moment of the entire series.
    Hilly...you old devil!

Sean Connery in Thunderball while clay pigeon shooting with Largo:

    'It looks very difficult'

' Why no it isn't, it it?'

    "Noooooo!"

Love how Robert Rietty delivers that. :))

Another one for me is also in Thunderball when Bond sets off the fire alarm in Shrublands

Female patient to Bond:What's happened? What's going on?

Bond (sarcastically): I don't know! Could it be the front door bell?

Pat Fearing: NO! It most certainly could not!

    Bond (cheerily): Oh hello!

Pat Fearing: Haven't you had enough exercise for one evening?

Bond: Funny you should say that!

You have arrived at a propitious moment, coincident with your country's one indisputable contribution to western civilisation: afternoon tea. May I press you to a cucumber sandwich?
