How, when and where are you watching SPECTRE?

DutchfingerDutchfinger Holland With LovePosts: 1,240MI6 Agent
I just reserved two tickets for me and my girlfriend of the major Bond premiere night on october 28th in the IMAX theatre in Tilburg! (The Netherlands.) I live on the other side of the country, so we also booked a hotel nearby!

The regular cinema's in Holland won't premier the movie untill the 29th, so it's actually a day earlier. Another cool thing is that it's an actual gala event, so I'll be going in a full blown suit with my Bond girl at my side!! :D

Never been to a major premiere for Bond quite in this fashion! So excited about this one! :D :D :D

What about you guys?

    I'll go to the first daytime showing in my local cinema, as there are never many
    people about, so I can enjoy it in peace. :) and a few other showings during the week.
    watched Kingsman like that with only two other people in the cinema. :D

    I shall be in the private screening room of my subterranean desert lair in Morocco with my white Persian cat (Mr Tiddles)...or maybe just at the first evening showing at my local cinema.

    I'll try and watch it the 6th or 7th, but I tend to procrastinate a lot and I may just watch it some time during the week when it's less crowded (I hate crowded theatres a lot). This will be my first Bond movie in theatre so I am pretty excited. I'll probably end up going alone unless I find a date by then :))

    The company that my wife and I own (a men's barbershop called, The Groom Room) have really done it up this year. For our customer appreciation event, we're taking 248 of our customers to our very own private showing of SPECTRE, on Friday, November 6th. We've rented out one of the theaters here in Ames, and have purchased the 248 tickets for our private event. It's really our way of having a debut movie premier... just like they do in Hollywood (well, close to it anyway). We gave the tickets away to our customers, as a small way for us to say, "Thanks for your patronage."

    It's a black tie event, and I can't tell you how excited our customers are for this. Nothing has ever been done like this in Ames before. We've even gotten some free newspaper and radio press about why we decided to do this kind of event. The response has been incredible. We're giving out swag bags with all kinds of men's grooming products, and we're also giving away these prizes:

    1) The entire 50 Years of Bond Blu Ray collection, including Skyfall goes to the biggest Bond fan (geek) other than me.
    2) A working scale model of the Skyfall DB5 (came all the way from London) goes to the customer who has been with us the longest, and is still with us.
    3) A hardbound copy of Ian Fleming's, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" goes to our newest customer as of date.

    Really, it's just me, wanting to sit in a REALLY big living room, in front of a REALLY big TV screen, and watch the premier with 250 of my friends... at least this is how my wife, Karen, describes it.

    I can hardly wait for the next 5 weeks to pass... sure hope they pass by quickly!

    Im going to my local cinema, luckily IMAX, with a bunch of buddies. Its a tradition that normally includes the day off, first screening, pub for lunch and beers. Meet the wives / gfs and go to the evening showing.

    This year is obviously different as 8pm on a Monday. Plus most of us have gained little ones. So all change.

    Will plan our "normal" day for Feb and the bluray release. Advantages of having a Bond Cinema Room in the house !

    I'm seeing it in normal 2D on November 4 with the same bud from the Skyfall premiere. It's our local home cinema so I thought I don't have to get tickets in september already, but I'm glad I did cause it's getting fuller and there's nothing worse than when the average moviegoer sees it before you, a Bond fanatic

    At the local cinema, with my dad. We are both Bond fans. My grandad took him to see the Connery ones so it's something that my dad just carried on with me.

    It's a bit of a ritual of ours, when a new Bond film comes out we go see it together, usually with a meal, a few drinks and a good chat about the film afterwards. We never go to the cinema together any other time, as I am 38 and usually go with my wife :))

    But a new Bond film is always a bit of a "lads night out" for me and my dad -{

    Same here. Seen all the Bond films since Goldeneye with my dad in the theatre. Become sort of a ritual with us too. He has seen every Bond film in the theater. We use to watch the Bond marathons over and over when they would come on TV when I was growing up. Just like you, I'm in my 30's and have a family, so I never go to the cinema with my dad at all. Use to go all the time to see any old movie when I was younger. But, my wife knows that a Bond film is a big deal, and she makes it possible for me to get the day off and go with my dad. Probably see the film and then take him out to dinner too. {[]

    Probably end up watching the movie again with just my wife the week after.

    I gotta say, the Groom Room sounds like my kind of barber sir! What an awesome place!
    I'm a person that drives a couple of miles everytime I go to the barber just because there happens to be a gentlemen's barbershop that is a lot better than my local ones. To me it's very important, they go the extra mile, so I do it too!

    But I have to say, this special customers event your organising is beyond my imagination, I wish that was done here! :D

    Hats off to you, sir! -{

    And as a sidenote, also great to read where all the other guys are watching SPECTRE! Lots of dads and son events so it seems!

    At my local megaplex's IMAX on either Fri 11/6; Sat 11/7 or Sun 11/8 (depends whether my daughter's college field hockey team makes the play-offs). Fortunately this particular Digital IMAX has a good sized screen (70' wide) so it will be worth the extra $$$$. -{
    IMO IMAX seems to be the way to go for SPECTRE as IMDb is continiuing to indicate in the film's technical specs that the IMAX version will have shifting aspect ratios (primarily 2.35 to 1 with some scenes in 1.90 to 1). Of course that may not turn out to be accurate, but taking into consideration the various formats that were utilized for filming (anamorphic Panavision; Super 35; Vistavision; Arri Super 65 6K) it makes sense.

    I'm so excited and bubbling with excitement. My first watching of the film will be on Tuesday after the Premier and the local multiplex cinema has a showing at 10.30am.

    I'll go on my own whilst all the kids are at school and working folk are just that working, but as a retired person I'm hoping it shouldn't be that busy at that time in the morning.

    Future viewings will then take place with my wife and my two sons will want to go as well. I have a trip to Manchester for the Christmas markets at the end of November so I will then take in a viewing of it in the IMAX theatre that they have, and I'll probably finish off by seeing it another couple of times on a Saturday afternoon when my footie team is playing away from home.

    Hopefully I'll get to see it about six or seven times, I just can't wait.

    Same here. I'm in Lincoln - dead in the middle of the state. Will likely be in my hometown theatre. I've asked for that Friday off (as Bond film release day is a holiday to me! :007) ), but if they do a midnight show the Thursday prior, I'm there! And then again with my girlfriend as soon as possible if she doesn't see it with me the first time. I average at least three projected viewings in a new Bond film's first run, so will hopefully get a subsequent viewing with my sons, now 19 and 17 years of age.

    I don't usually go anywhere special, like some old places in the Upper East Side. Not places that are good enough for Bond. I saw Skyfall in Imax outside of the city.

    I'm in Bangkok, Thailand and will be watching SPECTRE here with my girlfriend.

    I think it's out on November 6th here. Will try to book tickets soon.

    Normally I would watch a movie here at the closest shopping mall to me, but for SPECTRE
    I'm planning to go the 'CineArt' complex in the new EmQuartier mall on Sukhumvit road. Looking forward to it!

    ''Claiming to give Bangkokians an all-new movie experience, Quartier Cine-Art consists of four cinemas, each pioneering new technology that you can’t find elsewhere in Thailand. With nine projectors and three screens, True Screen X offers viewers an immersive 270-degree field of vision (B350/person or B800/couple for the opera chair). The more luxurious AEON Theater @Quartier offers bed-like seating with a blanket, as well as a pre-movie meal (Western or Japanese set menu) from Dean & Deluca. This cinema also claims to offer visual quality that’s 20 times clearer and brighter than normal systems. http://bk.asia-city.com/city-living/news/bangkok-best-vip-cinemas#sthash.A4BT3wLL.dpuf
