What's upsetting to me is how some "legitimate" news sources in America pick up the sloppy, out-of-context quotes from UK tabloids without doing any homework whatsoever. CNN ran an article recently, which was actually about the initial positive reviews, where they casually threw the "slit my wrists" quote in there and then said, "so we KNOW he's not coming back for another." Absolute rubbish reporting! No context about WHEN he made the statement, or Craig's history of taking the press to task.
It's all about the clickbait...good on Danny Boy for just being Danny Boy. :007)

whats worse is the critics, a lot fo reviews i've skimmed of the movie, they say 'yeah this is definetely his last one because of how bad he's acting in being interviewed.' its always the interviewer's stupid questions that send him off. Plus, a lot of true bond fans just eat it up as truth and it just adds to the Idris Elba will be Bond flame. That is not even considered a rumor anymore, people take it as fact . I even heard that Idris Elba recommended Michael Pena be Bond - a latin AMERICAN actor .
It was Chiwetel Ejiofor who recommended Michael Peña, which I assumed was a joke. I've never seen Michael Peña in a role anything Bond-like (though I've only seen him in a few movies), and he's only 5'7". Bond really can't be the shortest man on screen, though a 5'7" Bond would make me feel better about my own height.
Not sure how tall 5'7" is in real measurements, but surely can't be less than Craig's height??? ) ) )
I think the problem is the "Sony" issue with their rights ending after this latest film.
If another studio sign up instead of them then they might not want Craig, or at the very least not want a 3 year wait until the next one or 6 year wait for the next 2, which might in turn be a "fait accompli" to Craig and force his hand to resign. You know the old adage a new broom sweeps clean etc.
We'll know a lot more once this is sorted one way or another.
I just can't wait for 8pm (UK time) tomorrow.
Today I've looked after my Grandson, nursed my wife who has real man flu, made the evening meal, watched the City United derby match in football (soccer).
The little lad left at 7pm, the wife went to bed almost immediately, and I've now watched Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace back to back. Just time to watch Skyfall and then bed.
I just can't wait for SPECTRE, I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve waiting for Santa to come!!
Craig is the most successful since Connery. He simply can't quit at 4.
He CAN quit, certainly. And nobody but Craig knows his heart or his true plans a year or two down the road. But he's a license to print money for Eon, and any company who succeeds Sony will surely not be in a hurry to fix a money machine that isn't broken, so Babs and Mike will hand him a blank check and have him put some numbers on it.

His excellent record of success will certainly please any studio. Whatever studio takes over Bond would appreciate Craig's track record. They'll be more interested in money than whether or not they personally like him.

That pretty much would go against logic. The other studios will be lining up because of the great success of the films with Craig (not that Bond isn't a cash cow unto itself). All these studios fully understand the time lines between Bond films these days....it's that way for most blockbuster sequels in general (unless they are filmed back to back). If anything, potential new partners for EON would probably want some assurance that Craig will be back for at least one more film.
Define "successful", as it is all relative. And as for quitting, it's best to do it once you are still ahead!
Successful is all about money in the film industry. I understand you feelings about Craig, and I share many of them. But you can't deny the monetary success of Skyfall. Though many factors contributed to the film's success (I had never seen any Bond film so aggressively marketed), the film's star was still a big part of it. He wasn't the reason you or I saw the movie, but he's very, very popular.

In the case of SF, I would define "successful" as the biggest hit film in British history. I take Craig at his word that he will quit when he feels he can't deliver physically, or when he feels he's given everything he can to the role. I believe that #25 will be his last.

I believe him when he says that he has never taken a job just for the money (with the possible exception of Tombraider). He reiterated this on the Graham Norton show in the UK this week, however he chuckled when the interviewer pointed out that he will never been offered this much money before. Early reports suggest that they may have succeeded in following Skyfall ( not my favourite by a long shot but undeniably a critical and commercial 'game changer' Craig is in my view looking sharp and capable of one more. However I suspect that he knows that pulling that level of success off again is like winning the lottery. His legacy is as important to him as the money so he may well bail despite any new studio throwing the kitchen sink at him. Time will tell, for now let's just enjoy the ride.

Skyfall as a film was vastly overrated. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/film/what-to-watch/most-overrated-movies-all-time/
I put it success down to general public appreciation of the Bond Archetype, not Daniel Craig's terrible portrayal of it.
Plus there was a massive "Emperor's New Clothes" phenomenon going on at the time, where all the critics went gaga for it, so all the people went to go see it, and because it was so popular everyone said they enjoyed it, but all along, objectively, it was absolute rubbish.
I'm going to go see Spectre too, but that doesn't mean that I support Daniel Craig. Spectre will be successful, but that will be despite of Daniel Craig, not because of him.
Oh god, I just wish he'd get lost already. Its clear he hates the Bond archetype. Well I happen to love it, and I live my life in emulation of it. His insults to the James Bond character are insults to me personally. He needs to go.

The legit Craig haters along with the trolls who just want to get a rise out of people are all over this Craig not coming back stuff like Blofeld's pirahnas in YOLT. The trolls just want to make fans miserable on the eve of another Bond film being released and the Craig haters seem to be gleaning some perverse sense of vindication that they will finally be rid of this short, homely, blond interloper who worst of all is ungrateful for the undeserved opportunity he was given to ruin the Bond franchise for them. Most folks just want to finally see what appears to be a very worthy entry into the Bond canon...after that, well we'll see. -{

I am here because I am a legitimate Bond fan, and have been for over 20 years, and hearing Daniel Craig trash talk my hero was just too much for me and I needed a place to complain about it with people who would understand what I am talking about.
How can you say I haven't backed up one single claim? I posted a direct link to an article in a respectable newspaper which lists Skyfall as THE #1 over rated film of all time!
How can anyone who loves the James Bond archetype stand by while that pretender Daniel Craig slags him off so badly.
IMO, anyone who still supports Daniel Craig ipso facto is anti-James Bond. It's one or the other now.
S'funny. As someone trash talking the role, weird that he has a lead co-production credit on the new film ...
He is trying to sever the Bond archetype from its Fleming/Connery roots, which he deems to be "sexist", and turn the franchise into bland, stock standard action film fare.
That's what he means when he says he wants to "leave the franchise in a better place", translation: betray the very fundamental nature of the Bond character in order to appease third-wave feminists and their associated agitators.

Craig is a legitimate iteration of Fleming's character, raising possibilities no other Bond has. He's the right actor for his time, and box office bears it out. You boys at danielcraigismyclosetfetish.com should just ask him for a selfie with you, and get it over with.

On the live Royal premier feed Craig categorically states he loves playing James Bond.
With all the interviews I've seen in the UK, Jonathan Ross show, Graham Norton show, I'm confident not only for one more film but maybe two, featuring Craig.
Personally speaking i thinkl Craig will make his "You Only Live Twice" equivalent, and then finish like Connery.
He ain't getting any younger and this 3 year shooting schedule isn't in his favour, age wise.
The only other way that may change is if they film two films back to back (perhaps with a connecting story arc).
