I think it's best to dismiss most of the critics opinions. They seem to dismiss the film for rather silly notions, like the film having more humor, or having callbacks to previous films. At least we have solid continuity now, which we never had in the previous Bond films.
I think that Roger Moore's comments on Facebook are enough to make me know it will be good:
"Yes I saw it last Wednesday at the Everyman in Gerrards Cross, near my office, and think it's the best Bond ever. Huge fun, great action and very enjoyable! "
Can't wait!! Only two more hours to go !!!! -{ :007) -{

I wonder what Moore's thoughts really are. He has the class to only say the best thing he possibly can. Unless he's talking about Bond being someone who isn't "English English". Maybe that's the reason why he likes Daniel Craig so much, since he's the only Bond other than himself who is English by nationality and English by ancestry.
I don't see how SP was as some say, OTT and Austin Powers?! Finally they let in some humor and some older Bond elements and it's bad again for some people...
Humour is good... but Craig can't do comedy, can he? I mean, he's no Roger Moore...

...Saw it. IMAX cinema was 30 miles away, and I'm currently riding home, gathering my thoughts.
I'm seeing it again tomorrow afternoon, this time on a standard screen. Will probably not post a full review until I've seen it again...and can compose on something more practical than an iPhone with these sausage fingers
One thing: SEE THIS FILM. If you're a Bond fan, don't let dodgy reviews put you off seeing it projected. No critic---or friend's opinion---should deny you such a grand time :007)

Another bizarro review in today's Philadelphia Daily News. Only 2 stars (this is a critic who gave QOS 3 stars). Basically, the review says nothing happens in the film and it's way too long and for all intents and purposes, it's too "Bond". Again, just completely goes against the the vast majority of posters on AJB (who can be the harshest of Bond critics) who have seen the film and the British critics. Can't wait to see this. It seems EON's greatest sin with US critics has been to make a Bond film that looks, feels and plays like a Bond film.
I saw the movie last night, it was very good, but not as good as Casino Royale. I have to see it again, but I would probably rate it right behind SkyFall, which is a compliment. It is way better than Quantum of Solace. I think everyone will enjoy this movie.
I found the first half of the movie extremely entertaining, but the back end lagged. Craig was fantastic. I thought Naomi was again very good, she and Craig have definite chemistry. At lot of critics are praising Ben's performance, he is good, but have no doubt, it is the DC show.
I did not feel that chemistry with Lea Seydoux, but she looked great.
I think some critics are like trolls. They give their opinion as if it's
Documented fact. 8-) and given some of the big mistakes, I've read
in some reviews. I don't even think many reviewers watch the whole
film.

Yep, a Bond film that's to "bond". Very logical argument

2nd viewing in 35 minutes...and I'm excited as I was for the first one, as I'm taking my oldest son, Ian (he'll be 20 in three days)...who knows nothing about the film except for a couple of trailers I've shown him in the last couple of months :007) He is untainted by any spoilers, and I'm very much looking forward to his reaction.

The general consensus is that it's better the second time round...and as I'm of the opinion it's pretty darn good first time, it's going to be even more a treat next time. Can't wait.

It was an entertaining movie and I got my $10 worth at the theater, but it's the weakest of the Craig films, IMO. This is what happens, as I said, when you have a $300 millon dollar budget and bad writers. The first two acts build up a good premise, but the third act played it very safe and failed to give a meaningful resolution. The entire cast was full of great acting, but all of them felt under-utilized. It has everything you'd expect from a 007 movie, but for the most part, it doesn't do anything amazing either.

$10? Apart from Tuesdays and matinees, I don't know anywhere cheaper than $13 now. That's what I'm paying for my second viewing.

Has its moments, but nowhere as good as CR or even QOS (which in my view is hugely underrated and misunderstood). Some sequences are simply gorgeous; others feel like the writers/director were going through the motions. Won't go into details to avoid spoilers.
I don't agree. If you come from the camp that QoS is a bad movie, then you'll probably like Spectre more. If you believe that QoS is merely underutilized, then that applies to Spectre too.
OK...looks like I'm on for an IMAX showing today. Then we will have the only opinion that counts.....my opinion -{ Of course as my wife says: "Opinions are like a..holes, everybody's got one and you are definately one" )
Comments
But hey ho Live and let live I say we all have different opinions about all the Bond films.
SPECTRE in my opinion is great, not as good as CR but superior to Skyfall.
Craigs Bond films for me are:
1. CR
2. SP
3. SF
4. QOS
