SPECTRE Oddities & Miscellaneous Discussion Thread (SPOILERS)

This is a place to mention/discuss little things that might not fit into other existing threads. I'll start:
-Reference to The Hildebrand Rarity, with Q's remark about never having heard of it probably representing the majority of people.
-The Colonel Sun reference, with the torture scene and Bond telling Blofeld to get on with it as it's probably less painful than listening to him speak.
-The programmed music in the DB10. Was 009, the car's intended recipient, being sent on an assignment to New York? -OR- Was it another lesser-known Bond reference; 007 in New York?

Frank Sinatra was playing, apparently a good friend of Cubby Broccoli, so it was a nod to CB. This is according to an online review I read.
"Nisi Dominus: IV. Cum dederit dilectis suis somnum. Largo" perfomed by Paul Dyer, Australian Brandenburg Orchestra & Andreas Scholl, from the album 'Baroque Favourites'
Heres the album cover
How did Bond survive the torture?
Blofeld told him the first wave would drill into his skull and cause discomfort. The second would make him forget people. But it didn't for some reason. And the third would of killed him.
"Greatness From Small Beginnings."
He said it might cause memory loss if he could hit the right spot. He was going to take his eyes out on the third. They were going there when the watch went off.
Bond goes to her room takes off the disguise and then goes out in a normal suit and tie.
I've only seen the movie once so perhaps I have missed something.
"Do you expect me to talk? "No Mister Bond I expect you to die"
I think the disguise and girl are just for cover when Bond is following Sciarra. I think the only people not in costume are uniformed police officers, so Bond would stand out in normal clothes. The girl is perhaps just another layer of cover; a couple look less suspicious than a solitary man.
I am wondering why Bond wore a suit under the disguise. I know this current Bond seems to wear one most of the time, but it doesn't really make sense in this scene, as Bond is AWOL and ends up doing a lot of running and fighting.
Mentioned this elsewhere but why was an agent who'd just been 'stood down' being ferried into Q branch 5 minutes later. Was Tanner just doing it as a favour to him? Once there how on earth did he get the Aston out and get it shipped abroad. If nothing else this would have taken time yet he's driving it about in Rome a few hours later.
The other thing is the train fight. Great as it is how come the train suddenly appears deserted once it all kicks off and they are free to completely destroy the train without any comeback. Even afterwards no-one comes up to them and says wtf was that all about..they just go off for a shag. No wonder they dumped them off in the middle of the desert when they got the chance ) .
The thing about the train fights in FRWL and LALD was that they were contained within the cabin so this was never an issue.
There are no by standers, Bond is " Isolated" ?
I think this may be to represent, how Bond lives in two world's, our " Normal" one
and his own " Violence filled espionage " one.
Only my take on it, we might find out on the directors commentary.
Regarding getting a car to the continent, you can drive from the United Kingdom to Italy by taking the Eurotunnel shuttle. Essentially a train for cars. This gets you under the Channel and into France.
Lol you know what I never even thought about that. Even more ridiculous when you consider my Dad worked for Eurotunnel )
If Bond made it to Rome in a few hours, I bet there was no 'migrant activity' which meant a 5 hour delay for us on the way to France!!
Really? I thought that was obvious...
We see him in Mexico, tracking down Sciarra, on the most famous festival in that part of the world... of course he's going to be in costume (he'd stick out like a sore thumb if he didn't)... the girl? Well he's Bond isn't he, he's probably picked her up, to get info on the what happens on that day... and being with her is much less conspicuous, and well, he was hoping to come back to her, when he had killed Sciarra. This is the much more cooler/traditional Bond after all...
Kinda like the opening of TSWLM... we don't question who Bond was with at the beginning... he was just being Bond. )
)
Also regarding Tanner taking Bond to see Q after he's grounded...my understanding was that this was for the smart blood. After Mexico, M wanted to keep an eye on him. A bit like CR when Bond gets the chip implanted.
The fact he's escorted by a Tanner, I'm guessing is just for exposition.
If he did pick her up, he'd obviously done his research that her Hotel room/apartment affords access to his target across the roof. I thought she could well have been a pre-arranged contact.
But there are people in the dining room before the fight starts, I would have at least expected some screaming when the gun goes off.
Hopefully on the extra features on the bluray, it will all be explained.
hopefully there will be extre features this time )
I miss the stuff the first 20 films had as extras
I'd be hiding in the toilet, or rather protecting any women who might be
in the toilet ! )
That's how I saw it too -{
