Your "that" guy
I've got the Ben Sherman Harrington and it's a good one, I know TD has a blouson but the sunspel Harrington in stone colour just reminded me of that TD outfit, with some modern chinos, desert boots and a black linen shirt I reckon that would be a pretty good homage with a modern twist.
) You're right, I am "that" guy. I absolutely love your update ideas! I'm going to keep the idea on file and use it when I write my post about the TLD outfit with updated options for Iconic Alternatives, and credit you with the option, if that's fine by you.
Absolutely fine by me Jb, and I'll look forward to seeing your work.
Sweet! Probably won't get to writing up anything about the TD Morocco outfit until Fall starts approaching because their are loads of old school Bond Summer outfits I'm working on writing posts about, but I have filed your update suggestion away in a secure location in a folder with the words, "For Your Eyes Only" written on it.

) nice, I'm currently creating a mix of Thunderball, qos,CR and SP summer outfits for my summer and holiday wardrobe, but I've got the SP morrocan outfits down and along with some sunspel polo's, ob setter shorts and David gandy shorts I'm adding some connery esque shirts, using canoe2's site as a valuable reference point.happy days roll on summer
I needed a bit of a break from searching for Bond items, so I went down a seldom explored path .... Alternatives for the Dsquared chore coat from the Craig classic Dream House:
Hey canoe2. Have you considered doing any thing with DC's outfits in "Flashbacks of a fool"? Brilliant film and a couple of interesting outfits.
Gosh, haven't seen that in years, good call! The white shirt and his belt stand out in my memory - although don't count on that! That might need a revisit now.
Canoe2, I look forward to your take on budget alternatives to the Layer Cake and Casino Royale leather jackets. Barring replicas from Magnoli, Wested, Filmjacket, and the like (which are often pricey in their own right) I have never run across any acceptable options. The red interior and the exterior contrast stitching make the Dunhill Layer Cake and the placement and unstructured nature of the four pockets make the Casino Royale Armani, for me anyway.

Your right the white shirt, dark jeans and belt are his man outfit, but also an interesting cardigan outfit towards the end of the film. Have to say this is one of my favourite DC films.
The fit on the body was perfect, but the sleeves were too big for my scrawny arms, so I got it tailored and got a straight hem on it, as I prefer a straight hem on my untucked button downs.
I work as a musician and wear a tux a lot. I needed a new shirt this week and decided to go Casino Royale! Picked up this slim fit Calvin Klein hidden button, french cuff shirt for $29 (Reg $70) at Century 21. I'm sure these can be found online. Seen here with my CR tux from JOS Bank. :007)

Looks great! Nice finds! The fit looks fantastic too.
Thanks! Also, I liked the TF shirt DC had on in the Jonathon Ross interview so I picked up a blue Geoffrey Beene shirt for $14, also at Century 21. Again, slim fit is the key. No cocktail cuffs but I like the look with jeans!
I've been working on this one for a while now, hoping that some decent options would show up in the spring. And I can confidently say that I have looked everywhere I can think of to find a good match (seriously, my eyes will never unsee some of shirts I've come across researching this post).

@Chriscoop: That's also a nice find! I looked at Ted Baker when I was researching the article, but I didn't find that one online. I did find these ones, I thought about including them in the post as "one's you could dye", but decided in the end not to because of the price and lack of pockets.
I figured if people were going to pay a lot of money AND go through the trouble of dyeing the fabric, they would want the pocket details to be correct.

I'm a bit blued out to be honest, with the polo's, linen shirt etc, hence why I went for the ted baker shirt. Paired with some grey chinos and my brown desert boots it hits the mark for me.

Now that that's out of my system, more Bond related alternatives to come for spring!
Haven't seen the movie!I'll need to check it out.

Seems to be faux leather, though, if you don't mind.....

Some of these definitely aren't budget. But it's a good start, I hope!
Chriscoop: do you have a pic of the outfit you're talking about?
Westward_Drift: Agreed; the details on these jackets are what makes them. I found this one from Cole Haan:
But the length, collar and pocket position just aren't right;
Meanwhile, a new post is up: since summer is coming I looked at options for cotton and linen Bond style camp shirts:

Oh yeah, there's that belt! Looks customed.

VoxIsMyCowboy: They look great, only problem is there are only XXL and up left in stock.
So, finally: a post months in the making: alternatives for the Zara Enjoying Death Shirt
