Great review. You're making the belt sound very tempting.
Regarding RM Williams, they've already raised the prices of their boots at the beginning of the year. Styleforum has not been saying very kind things about that.
They increased the prices of most other items as well. I was planning on getting a one of their brown leather dress belts but the price increased $30 AUD while I was mulling over the decision. It's a shame really, R.M. Wiliams is such an iconic Australian brand going back many many years. I hope the LVMH purchase won't mean it will stray too far from those roots. I've got quite a few R.M. boots, belts etc and the quality is superb, here's hoping that isn't going to change with their future products.
Anyway brilliant review canoe! Good to see some more info and pics of the Badgery.
I think it's going to be a "wait and see" game with RMW and LVMH. As you both said, prices have already started to go up, and the news articles I referenced in the post (and some others I read) state that anywhere between 20% and 80% of the manufacturing (mostly clothing and accessories) will be shifted to Asia. Any way you look at it, the brand is going to go through some major changes.
My "Spectre Mexico" suit arrived today and I am very happy with it.
As with the Tom Ford original, the pattern isn't readily apparent from far away, but you can see it up close. It is not a white pattern as I believe the original is, but a light shade of blue. Close enough for me!
The fit is really good, but not as tight as the original. I am a 38S and I could have gone with a 36. So if you are ordering and want the tight look, go a size down. The trousers are also slightly long, and I may get them taken up.
As a bonus it came with a free black tie (pictured). I may change the tie, but thought it would do for now!
They look good, and an excellent price, the tf Henry's are basically copies of the ray ban clubmaster anyway, and to be honest not as good quality and don't have polarised lenses! I've put my Henry's away and gone back to my clubmaster.
I'd happily pull the trigger on those sunglasses.

Thanks for that link! Because of the filters used in the Mexico scene it's quite hard to see the exact details on the suit. I had thought that the windowpane on the suit was white...but you are quite right, it is a pale blue.
Putting the photo from that link against my own suit and I am very happy with how alike they are.

Looks great! Congrats! Do you mind if I use the pic for the Gallery?
angelicbond: your pic is up in the Gallery! Thanks again!
Not going to pretend this was an easy one, but I think I've found one or two that should do the job; alternatives for the Casino Royale Madagascar Shirt:
Looking sharp, Angelic!! I'm glad to see it worked out for you.
I am thinking about grabbing one myself and just wanted to ask you a few things:
- how is the quality?
- what are the materials? cotton % and ??
- The fit? I'm surprised that you said you can size down as the site says it is quite slim cut.
Thanks very much. Hope you get to enjoy it at some summer shindigs!! -{
The quality is quite good for the price. Of course I'm sure not at the same level as the Tom Ford ) , but I am very happy with it.
It is a mix of 65% polyester and 35% viscose, so not a suit that will get a lot of wear. But, if like me, it will be a suit you wear a few times a year then it is absolutely fine.
As for the fit, it is quite loose fitting despite what they say on the website. It is a 32" waist but I really need a belt with it. And it is a 38" chest, but fits like a regular rather than a slim fit. So if you want to go the Craig route and have it close fitting (which was my intention) then go down a size.
I know there are plenty of excellent suggestions already on the website but I found another QoS Harrington alternative, and a very good one in my opinion:
100% cotton with buttoned cuffs, side adjusters and no elastic hem anywhere! And the price

Thanks for the response. With your comments and at that price, I'll certainly give it a shot. Thanks!!
Amazing find on the Harrington! They are out of my size (XS) at the moment, but I'm going to keep an eye on this one. I would be very interested to hear about reviews from people who end up grabbing it because I am unfamiliar with the brand. Also, it's hard for me to tell if they even ship to the US.
Agree with everyone else, Ornithologist: great find on the Harrington! I added it to the post with credit to you for the find! James Brosnan: as near as I can tell, MandmDirect do not ship to the U.S. or Canada.
Speaking of James Brosnan, he has a new post up on the site! Today being Summer Solstice, it seems like a good time to look for alternatives for the DAD white linen shirt:
I feel flattered to have it listed as best option!
Since I didn't know the brand either, I waited till I had received mine before suggesting it. But everything went well and it seems to be very very good considering the price. The collar doesn't stand up quite the way I want it to, and it is only really fitted if one uses the side adjusters. However, this is definitely me being nit-picky. I might post some pictures of the jacket when I return from vacation.
"I'm afraid I'm a complicated woman. "
"- That is something to be afraid of."
I'm not sure if this alternative has been mentioned before (Tried the Search tool but not much help there in locating specific posts), but the Superdry Waxmans blazer is a very very good alternative to the Barbour X To Ki To jacket.
Just received mine, and am super pleased with it! Definitely captured the look of the Barbour extremely well. Apparently it has a double wax coating, and the material sure feels like it.
For those who are interested in getting one, I cannot stress this point enough: This jacket is cut SLIM!!!! I always have to go up a size for Superdry product, and in this one I think for a normal fit I will have to go up 2 sizes! However for the Skyfall snug fit (Not uncomfortable, but definitely snug) I went with one size up, and can fit a thin merino wool sweater underneath. But if you want to add more layers or wear a thicker sweater it will probably be too tight. Oh and for those who carry a little bit of extra weight, or if they work out hard, this will be a tricky fit for you, as the sleeves are cut quite slim, and so are the chest.
If anyone is interested I can post some fit photos and measurements up. Overall this is a kickass piece of gear, and it fulfilled my desire for the Barbour jacket.

That looks really nice. The colours and pattern are very close to the Spectre suit. There's no white in the Spectre suit. You can see a diagram of the pattern here: http://thesuitsofjamesbond.com/the-blue-prince-of-wales-suit-in-spectre/

They also seem to have lots of budget versions of Bond clothing too. I may be making a few purchases. T-shirts, polos and chinos in particular.
