I just want to thank the gentleman named "Suit" on here formally, for finding me one of the last XS Menlos on the planet. I mentioned on here that I lost a bid for a Menlo @ $650 a while back. Suit showed me that someone was selling more on eBay, but the price was over $800, so I told Suit I couldn't afford that right now. Well, Suit didn't stop there. He must have been keeping an eye out because when it went on sale for $615, Suit sent me a message and let me know. I couldn't resist. All said and done, I grabbed a Menlo for around $650, tax, tag, and title (I make the car reference because that is more expensive than my second car :)) - a stick Geo Metro). It's the new line of Menlos, so not completely SA, but as far as budget alternatives go, it's as good as it gets. Thought I would share with the community. Thanks man!

Persistence is key. You're going to enjoy that jacket.

I went through a period where I wore my To Ki To everywhere, I loved it so much. But over the long haul I find that the Menlo is my go-to jacket from Skyfall.

Grabbed these the other day as an alterative to the Tetbury. From Samuel Windsor. Very happy with them despite the fact that it had 4 eyelets (though the diamante soles make up for that ;) )

I don't know if I or anyone else posted these but these are a potential alternative to the Purcell OTR..... maybe. For $39.99 at Kohl's.

The color is COGNAC and at some point in September there's going to be a 30% off sale with free shipping for Kohl's cardholders so this will be around $30-$31 shipped.

    Two new post updates:
Menlo (not much new, and I'm not completely happy with the new ones I added, but I do what I can ....)

    http://www.iconicalternatives.com/2015/11/30/levis-menlo-leather-jacket-skyfall/

TF Harrington (again, some okay new options, but the M&S alternative is still winning):
    http://www.iconicalternatives.com/2015/12/02/quantum-of-solace-harrington-jacket/

So, it felt like a bit of an unproductive morning.

But, gentlemen, my friends, then this happened .....

    Le-Chateau-Cotton-Cardigan-Black.jpg?resize=220%2C300

How does that strike you for $29.99!!

And then this came along ....

    Novica-Alpaca-Black-Cardigan.jpg?resize=265%2C300

$99 BUT there are only 2 left: medium and large. Alpaca/acrylic blend and designed by a Peruvian artisan. You gotta read the back story on this thing.

Thanks for the update canoe2. I just ordered the one from Le Chateau in both XL (my regular size) and an XXL. Depending on fit one of those will be sold.

For a 15% discount try using code 2016WE09CT3LW. It's the one I received when I signed up which then made the cardigan only $25.49!

Great find on the cardigan Canoe2. At that price, and the fact that they sell an XS that has dimensions that actually look like it will fit me, I grabbed one. Very excited! Now all I have to do is find me some good SA buttons to swap out with. {[]

I got these along with a cardigan alternative I bought from kadd last year.

There are cheaper options if you don't need real leather

Thanks man! I'm definately going to go with the leather. I think it's worth the few extra bucks. These look fantastic.

New post: Best Budget finds for August. I think ... I think ... I've found decent new alternatives for the Kentons and the Y-3. And the Barbour Lutz (a cheaper Barbour alternative for the To Ki To) is on sale for $180.

Here is my Budget version of the Spectre Omega Seamaster. Colour is slightly different, but I'm very happy with it. The watch is a Slazenger from TK Maxx on sale for £13.99 and the strap is from Amazon for £14

    Thanks buddy.
The Persols are 3102-S 24/31 (think that means Havanna & Green)
The watch is a not so frugal Rolex Submariner 14060M
And I was also wearing my Church's Ryder IIIs

I think the shirt works really well, I'm very pleased with it. B-)

I love all of those Chriscoop! I feel ya on the Magnoli glasses. I can't wait either. Is that pink shirt still available? That is one of the best alternatives I've seen.

Thanks JB, the shirt is ted baker and I bought it earlier this summer from their store if that's any good for you, I did post it up just after I bought it. Tbh along with the sky-blue shorts it became my default beach/pool outfit.

    I thought the shirt looked expensive :)) great choice. I remember your layout of this outfit now, with the TF sunnies. The shirt looks very different on. I totally agree. I've been wearing my sky blue Sunspel shorts with a blue gingham shirt I picked up on ASOS a while back; it's my beach/pool outfit as well. But, I've been wanting to switch it up with the pink shirt, so I'm on the lookout for one. I'll check out the Ted Baker options. Sometimes they go on sale for a price that might be in my budget at the moment. -{

Gents found a fantastic alternative to the BC Morocco blazer!

Made by Alan Flusser and it is amazingly close, with the exception of a partial ticket pocket.

Search eBay as they seem to come up quite regularly.

caution - they run big! I bought a 46 originally and was swimming in it! Downsized to a 42 and it fits like a glove!

This probably should be its own post, but seeing the various items people look for and want in Bond films (particularly Spectre) reminds me of Rusty Ryan's (Brad Pitt) style in Ocean's 13, which has been making the rounds on HBO over the summer.

I noticed a few things about Brad Pitt that remind me of Spectre, both of which are in this pic: :007) :007)

    bfd568308f0a4affb2e293a021537482.jpg

Spoiler alert: the Morocco Blazer (albeit Rusty's is a few shades off, give or take) and Brunello duffel bag.

BAMFStyle has a bunch of articles on Rusty Ryan's style throughout the trilogy which are fun to read.

    https://bamfstyle.com/tag/rusty-ryan/

In canoe2's (and everyone else's) quest to find good alternatives to 50 years of Bond, this shot of Damon, Clooney, and Pitt (at least to me) perfectly summarizes the last 20 years of Bond's suit evolution, from Pierce through Craig: Damon has Brosnan's Istanbul and Havana suits down, Clooney has the early classical Craig era suits, and finally Pitt is wearing the more colorful\less traditional colors from SF and SP: gray suit, Morocco blazer, Istanbul suit, etc.

    08oceans600.jpg

I guess the budget alternative takeaway here could be, the Brunello outfit, combined with some white dress pants, can be an interesting outfit as well for those who want to try something new: the Rusty Ryan look, you can say.
