strange observations on the modern man

HatThrowingHenchmanHatThrowingHenchman Russia With LovePosts: 1,834MI6 Agent
the modern man wears tight jeans, lumberjack-shirts and outta-space shoes.
the modern man spots a trimmed full-beard and thick black glasses.
he uses facial-creams and goes to manicure/pedicure.
the modern man has a shaved body. he's very interested in social media.
He gives a lot about political correctnes and goes shopping with cotton bags.
He eats salad wit fat-free dressing.
He cries and shows emotional depth.
The modern man has a feminine side and is not affraid to show it.

Where do I want to go with this? I'm sure many of you have seen a lot of guys arround fitting with my description. I've seen them while I was in school and now they're arround and about in town.
I was wondering why the picture of a man changed that drastically?

to be precise, eventhough he's not my no.1 Bond, Sir Sean is the stereotype of what I would call a man.

so, of course I exaggerated a bit, but you know what I mean. what your oppinion on that change?

I think most "Blokes" are the same as always, it's only the "Hipster" that uses
male grooming products etc ( in my opinion)

Indeed -{ seriously though I think your right, it seems the modern man is somewhat losing his masculinity, I like nice clothes with the best of them but skinny jeans deep v t-shirts and espadrilles is not a very manly look and there are men of 30 odd years old dressing like 14 year olds fortunately there are us bondians to keep things right. Even my wife (who is 30) reckons these guys are soft looking.

Yes, let's not mistake a fictional character Connery played with the real man he probably was. Just because he didn't cry on screen doesn't mean he never cried in real life. And would anyone want to be a man who cannot cry anyway?

i don't know many men in their 20's or even 30's now, my friends tend to be older. The description above doesn't fit the men I know very well. Many of them grew up on farms, some hunt, most served in the military. On the other hand we find it natural to push a baby carriage, do the washing and that sort of thing.

I wear lumberjack shirts because I like them. Before they were a fad. But I don't wear skinny jeans and political correctness is not for me. Too many lads spend a lot of time in mirror. More so than women these days. I've even been on the metro system up here in Newcastle and caught men looking at the reflections of themselves on their phone screens and they adjust their hair.

Everythings's a fad these days, from Marvel, Star Wars, James Bond etc

Like I've loved those things since I was a kid, Just so many late teens early 20's jump on bandwagons. Whether it be fashion, movies or whatever.

But my personal hate is the bloody man bun. Jesus wept. :s

as ours. I'm sure our father's generation didn't think much of US either. :))

I think these visual signs are great, usually you have to talk to
Someone to discover they're an asshole, but these save you a
    Lot of time. ;)

It's so true though hahaha :)).

    You know when meeting new people, or being introduced to friends of a friend I usually don't say much but I like to listen to how much full of manure they are. I always borrow the line from Jackie Chan in Rush Hour;

"Not being able to speak is not the same as not speaking. You seem as if you like to talk. I like to let people talk who like to talk. It makes it easier to find out how full of **** they are." :))

Does anyone notice what modern men drink?

I'd say Jack Daniels is the current "cool" drink that the hipsters drink. Or Captain Morgan's Rum.

Be yourself, don't be someone else's fashion statement.

I did the daft faddy things when I was a teenager, clothes, hair etc. It stopped in my early twenties. I hated skinny jeans when I was 14, but wore them. At 40 I see others wearing them now and wince. "That was me nearly thirty years ago."

Every generation does it. Every generation looks back and cringes, or laughs. I prefer to laugh.
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?
