There's a bunch of stuff out there re Infinity War but most of it is rumors. According to moviepilot.com/p/avengers-infinity-war-cast-news-rumors (whatever that is) it is highly unlikely that he is in Infinity War but the reality is that Hiddleston's participation in the next Avengers film probably doesn't effect whether or not he is cast as the next Bond, especially if Bond 25 ends up with a 2019 release date.
Compared to the comic book supergeek crowd, we Bond fans (especially here on AJB) are a pretty laid back bunch of wise elders (well at least until we think that EON has really screwed something up). -{
If you assume a 2019 Bond 25 release (which I believe is a reasonable best case scenario) then Infinity War makes no difference to whether Hiddleston will be available. Personally, I have no idea who will play Bond next (except I doubt it will be Craig) or when Bond 25 will be released (except I very much doubt it will be 2018).
Lets no forget for SPECTRE roughly it was pre work starting with building work Oct 14 with announcement in Nov14, filming in Dec 14 through Jul 15 (total 128 days) and then all set by Oct 15. So a release within 2018 is possible if pre work has already started
Cheers :007)
At this point in 2014, EON/MGM had:
a distributor
an actor under contract to play Bond (who was very popular)

Currently it has none of those things.
How many of these things could possibly be kept secret?

Actor, screen writer, and maybe even a screenplay seem likely to me.
IMO, it is not out of the realm of possibility that after the Sony hack EON has decided kept things under wraps for Bond 25. Strong confidentiality clauses for all involved, keep information within a tighter circle...even keep the identity of the new distributor a secret until the film is actually formally announced.
I don't think there's any secret filming going on. If TH's 2017 break has anything to do with Bond (I very much hope it has nothing to do with an ill mother), it's probably more in an effort to rejuvenate and prepare himself for a grueling 6 month Bond shoot beginning at year's end. Let's not forget that the Spectre shoot was so taxing Daniel Craig contemplated suicide at just the thought of going through it again )
Has it ever happened that the lead of a major film franchise has been changed and the new actor starts filming for the movie before his name is made public? I don't think that's what happening with Bond, but I admit it would be cool to anounce the new Bond at a press conferance with actually footage of him as Bond.

It really is a crazy schedule and Post Production is always very quick. The films seem to take eons to gestate and then Bam! I often feel that the film's would benefit from a longer time in post. Forster certainly felt that editing and post were a nightmare.

I agree with you. Most films of the same magnitude spent considerably longer in post production. That would also help with the fatigue Craig displayed during the press tour to promote the film.
I'm just going to call it and say that Daniel Craig will be back. At this point, I'd raise my eyebrows very high in true Roger fashion if he wasn't to return.
Could be fake news!, MGM denied the claim, but if MGM is looking at potential buyers due to cashflow problems it could mean Bond 25 is delayed and that could mean recasting Bond.

I know it's the Express but come on, so he keeps his cool and all of sudden he could be the next James Bond, it's not even April fools day.
Just saw trailer for skull Island, TH looks pretty cool, I would be more than happy if he is Bond 7 even if DC comes back for one more TH would only be 40 for Bond26 and PBS was 42 and RM 46! So long as it's not another Bond begins ) also might just add TH is a bloody good actor has anyone seen his portrayal of Hank Williams? I think he would give Bond is all!

Can you legitimately call that an "article"?

How can anyone argue with such a well reasoned viewpoint

I'm trusting Moneypenny on this one, I think Daniel is coming back.
I'm with Broccoli. Cut the crap. -{
Another article stating 2018 release.
Love him, while all the other potential aspirants to the role are looking suitably suave and menacing, we get this classic from the Express:

I believe that this is smoke and mirrors and 2018 will see TH as Bond. EON appear to be playing a very tight game with Bond news.
Funnily enough, in the recent "Bolognese" GQ interview he adamantly states that he will not go into hiding.
I am even more convinced that the Bond 25 machine is starting up
I read in media his mother is dying of cancer. Possibly media bullshit (hopefully).
However if true I guess maybe he is not secretly filming Bond
You think?
What better way to keep everyone excited by not announcing anything ?
