Always thought Mark Strong would have made a great Blofeld and he has said he would have loved to play a Villian against DC who is godfather to one of Strongs children. Watched the Jag advert TP yes can see potential but I have a feeling if what Sir Miles says is true and DC is not coming back it's going to be somebody who is not on the radar!!! Hmm not really a fan of Eccleston, being bald never stopped sir Sean being a world wide sex symbol and the quintessential James bond.
I am surprised given DC's influence with Eon and the fact of his and strongs friendship a role has never been found for him. His acting talents are right up there, he is the only stand out in the dismal Robin Hood for me, and loved him in tinker tailor soldier spy. He can also wear the hell out of a hair piece!
Think Mark Strong is currently one of britains best actors he is even good in crap movies Revolver and Welcome to the punch bowl both dreadful films but Strong was great and as a Syrian spy chief in Body of Lies he was fantastic. Not sure if true but heard he turned down a role of a policeman in Peaky Blinders( overrated rubbish IMO)
He must be very selective in his roles, then have that non mainstream actors need to work, hence some of the stuff he turns up in, it's amazing how many films he does Co star in. That Jag ad has some of Britain's finest acting talent in it really

People here are starting to convince me of Hiddleston as Bond, but he still reminds me of a Bond villain along the lines of Trevelyan or Graves. Between his role as Loki and the Jaguar advertisement, I'm convinced he'd make a great Bond villain.

Have you been watching the Night Manager? While Hiddleston would not be my pick, I think he could be a serviceable Bond. If surrounded with a strong cast and a good script, he would not detract from the proceedings.

thought Strong could have made a good Bond as well when saw this film -{ Defo no to Tom Hardy, think he is dreadful, so overrated as bad as Ray Winston or dare I say it Danny Dyer!!

Let us know what she thinks. I think people will find him more attractive when compared to Craig currently. I recently was with a group of women and a gay man who were talking about actors they found attractive and Craig came up. All of them now found Craig old and unattractive, though their negative opinion of SP might have affected that. I was surprised their opinion had changed (assuming they had once found him attractive). And I said nothing in this conversation to sway their opinion about Craig and kept completely silent. I was the only one who enjoyed SP, which made me a little sad.
Just read some reviews on TH for his portrayal of Hank Williams so although the film itself did not get great reviews TH did for his performance so could be good things to come if indeed Tom is 007 number 7

TH does looke good in a suite whereas I always thought DC suited the casual clothes better IMO always seemed stumpy in a suite but I know sod all about clothes.
As I've said before, although TH might not be my first choice, I'd be happy enough with him as Bond but, not DC's Bond. It would have to be a more refined, Old Etonian/Fettes Bond. He can still be a nasty sort when necessary, but definitely public school to be credible.
