Craig cant be bought anymore, if he's done he's done. It's crazy to think we're at the tail end of the Daniel Craig era now, whether or not he returns the sun will be rising on a new era soon.
I hope it's true, if so we should hear something concrete soon I'd think.
It's quite amazing how Craigs comments are taken, I get his humour and demeanour and he is sarcastic, something which seems lost on a lot of reporters who are constantly looking for a salacious scoop.
Regarding this newest rumor: while it could be plausible, it just seems like the melding together of bits of other rumors: "Craig signs huge deal for two more films"; "Next two Bonds to be filmed back to back". It wouldn't surprise me if Sony has offered to ante up big bucks to keep Craig and stay in the Bond game themselves. And therein lies the rub...Craig would actually have to agree to come back. I'm guessing that maybe Sony is only willing to bankroll a Craig return for at least two more films. If Craig moves on, Sony would likely want to negotiate a much better deal than the first for themselves moving into the pack with all the other suitors.
With regards to filming back to back, it does apparently costs less than doing the films separately which could offset the high price tag for Craig (if we are really talking about 150 million; an earlier rumor had the figure at 68 million for two more). The other thing that doesn't fit is the idea of Craig willing to go through an even longer shoot when he was so reportedly physically and mentally wrecked by one film (although the article attempts to explain this away by intimating that it was all a ruse and negotiating ploy by Craig). If it all does come to fruition (which I highly doubt), I would really take issue with calling Craig "a whore" especially if it based upon his "slash my wrists" comments. Craig has never appeared to be unappreciative of the Bond role, demeaned the films or put himself above the role in any way. If anything, he has approached the Bond films as serious business and his commitment to the role has been unquestionable. With Craig's participation, EON has been able to elevate the Bond films to critical acclaim, something they haven't seen since the first 3 or 4 Connery films. So.....if he takes the big money, good for him and good for us. Like my uncle used to say "Money talks and bulls**t walks".
As I may have mentioned, I had a 32-year career in psychiatry (I'm a retired RMN) and while I do see the analogy perdogg is drawing I don't think it's entirely accurate. What we're suffering from is a lack of hard information, leading to people clutching at straws and extrapolating conclusions from insufficient data- plus a large dose of wishful thinking.
I agree with phrases like " wishful thinking" and "something Hard" , we should be having a field day
With sexual innuendos, ........ and not paying too much attention to these wild stories !
Although please keep them coming, always interesting reading. -{

Good lord barbel ! So when you called us all nuts in tsabs it was from a proffesional point of view, and I thought it was just a flippant throw away comment

Is " keep them coming" included in your innuendos tp?
On the Who will be Bond stories, I think many media outlets keep a large file of general actors
Names which they just pop into their stories as needed. Or who they think is " flavour of the
Month"

If this is true, then thank the Lord someone at that house of idiots called Sony has finally had the bright idea to make two films back to back, rather than take ages to get just one film out, letting the actor age, allow people to lose interest etc.

For the record, I would be quite happy to have Craigger for two more films...and Hiddleston probably wouldn't have been on my short list...but I am given to understand that Craig put his notice in with Eon a year ago last June. Granted, the situation may still be a bit fluid if they're throwing that much currency at him---but I'm equally ready to see Tom's take on the role.

I'm of a similar mind. I'd love to have Craig back but with the deafening silence from EON and having seen a good bit from Hiddleston and Turner I've become ready for and interested in what either of them could do with the role. I also feel pretty confident that EON won't "c**k it up" even with a new Bond actor. Much like Cubby and Harry before them, I think Barbara and Michael have found their own "formula" that works in today's world and they will do a good job of adapting it to a new Bond actor.

Oh no, "Nuts" is a recognised and frequently used diagnosis....

Goodness, Barbel, that's tough work. Let me take a moment to salute you. {[]

What would be stunningly good is for Craig to do two more, filmed back to back, that complete a Blofeld trilogy.
Craig is in the enviable position to demand pretty much anything he wants, include writing more on the order of Casino Royale. Get a solid director -- even Martin Campbell -- to come back and make Craig's final two Bonds his finest. Release them in 2018 and 2019, which would allow a new Bond to take over as early as 2020.
As a fangirl of Craig, I'm gutted he's leaving/gone...but I certainly don't want him returning for 2 more if the motivation is money.
I want him to do Bond...not be bribed into it.
It is frustrating the lack of news...and I guess the press has nothing left but to speculate, but I could do with the ££ I have on TH getting the role )

I like the back to back idea, but find it unlikely. Jeez they struggle with quality with the current run rate I am sceptical that they could muster two scripts of good enough quality or turn out a good product under hose conditions. They would have to be in very advanced planning now to pull it off and there is no evidence that they are anywhere near that.
Of that of which we cannot speak we must pass over in silence- Ludwig Wittgenstein.
If they are filming two back-to-back with Craig, that would have to mean that the films wouldn't have much action and would be more low-key. Considering how Craig reacted after filming Spectre, he wouldn't be able to handle two films in a row like that. But I'd appreciate a Bond film without the intense action scenes.
If it is true about the $150 million, this EON's desperation "Hail Mary" to save the franchise. Another LTK failure will be the death of the franchise as we know it.

The story says it's Sony making this offer. Which is a curious thing to do for a studio that isn't signed to distribute the next two films.
$150 million is an unbelievable amount. Considering SP was rumoured to have been made on a budget of $300 million, this means at least a quarter of the film's budget will go into the main star.

Hope this is true and Daniel does come back for one more film, but best to treat it as just another rumour.
