Question regarding the RAF?

A friend asked me if the RAF wore Glengarry or Balmoral type caps....well, I can't seem to find anything on the internet regarding this, and my recollection of my time in East Anglia and the Middle East with RAF personnel, I don't remember seeing any headgear other than the billed service cap, a greyish coloured beret or in the case of their desert utilities they wore a cap that matched.

Do any of ya'll know?

Thank you. He's wearing what we in the USAF call a "garrison cap"..we also have a really dirty name for it sometimes.

BTW, that's depressing article, I hate to see your country have to take the cuts they did.

Just found this, the forage cap is no longer issued but is still authorised for wear ,private purchase (they are not cheap !), with No1, No2 and flying uniform ,not with CS95 or PCS combat uniform , officers of Gp Cpt rank and above have light blue piping on the edges . It is popular with aircrew as it fits easily in flying suit pockets , it is now very unusual to see non commissioned ranks (non aircrew) wear it as they are authorised and issued the beret for general wear. Officers are issued the beret but apart from RAF Regiment are only permitted to wear it in combat or flying clothing.
