Sebastian Faulks on the challenges of writing a Bond novel

The London Library in central London is marking its 175th Anniversary in May this year. The Library may be slightly familiar to Bond fans. Not only was Ian Fleming a member of the Library and it is also mentioned in one of the books: Bond carries a London Library book when he goes to meet Blofeld pretending to be a College of Arms representative in On Her Majesty's Secret Service. As part of its 175th celebrations The Library is holding a literary celebration from 6th to 8th May 2016. One of these events, at 11:30am on Saturday 7th May, will see Sebastian Faulks and Sophie Hannah talking about the challenges of writing continuity books; Hannah has produced a new Poirot mystery and Faulks has, of course, done a Bond book. Tickets can be purchased from www.londonlibrary.co.uk/175.
