FS: (Tom Ford Spectre jacket and polo)

Looks like I have to let go of a few more items.

Both are brand new with tags, and are 100% genuine. Both are screen accurate as well.
I'm trying to get back what I spent on them including shipping and taxes import duties etc.
Tom Ford sure did have quite the mark up on their items that were in Spectre.
And that's an understatement.

Item 1.) Tom Ford Solden winter sweater jacket, navy, NWT (size US 42 / Large) $2,790
Item 2.) Tom Ford knitted button-less morocco polo, navy, NWT (size US 42 /Large) $1,160

I would say that these items fit true to size.

I'd pay what Harrods were selling them off for for the polo but not more than retail as it's still avalible

What price was Harrods selling them off for? I know they're still readily available in most sizes from stores for their original retail $960 USD with free postage. Selfridges even had them on sale for a short period for $470.

40% off at both Harrods and Selfridges. £320

Harrods and Selfridges must have sold them out very quickly at that price, or they've removed them from the sites? Neiman Marcus is the only place online I can actually see they anymore...but alas, still full price.

Selfridges had stock but removed it to make way for new, suspect they may reappear at some point...

The sale prices debate doesn't really hold water in my opinion. Often, these sales kick in when there's only limited sizes available - i.e., XS or XXXL. The most sought-after sizes sell out at full retail price (which was the case with the TF ski pants, and the first run of the Blousons and Polos). Or they sell out when the preliminary sales start (for those sites that have an incremental % markdown). For example, Mr. Porter has a big sale going on now - initially, it was 30% off, then 40%, and now up to 50%, I believe. But all the common sizes sold out, most even before the sale started. There may have been one available at the initial 30% markdown, but that was gone within minutes of the sale going live.

Another thing to keep in mind is that those of us in the States paid well above the price tag that all of you paid in the EU for these TF items. It really wouldn't make any sense for someone in the EU to buy from us here in the States - you'd rightly be paying a hefty mark-up (we paid the import fees & took a hit on the exchange rate - which was sh** at the time TF released the Spectre line - as part of the sales price initially; then you're going to be paying a customs fee for it to come back to the EU). Of course, if it's your size and you can't find it elsewhere, then you may be willing to pay the extra $.

In other words, I think it's fair that the seller is asking to recoup 100% of what he paid. If he provides a proof of purchase of the sales price, it's a fair deal.

    Kind regards,
    Craig

Craig, agree... But the sizes in Selfridges were 42 and 44, so not the x small etc. Just nabbed another TF polo in navy, 42 for £240...
They also have the light blue in 44 for £255

It's certainly all about timing. I just checked Selfridges - now sold out completely in navy. Only a single light blue polo left in 44.

Congrats on grabbing another one, Mark! A great price indeed!

    Kind regards,
    Craig

Damn that's an incredible price! Grr and 42 is the size I've been after as well. I've been popping onto Selfridges every now and again since it disappeared from their site, but it must not be my lucky day.
