Brilliant—the colour and everything is perfect -{ What did you make it out of?
Thank you -{
Quite simple really I printed out the sign onto a sheet of self adhesive paper then stuck it onto a sheet of double fluted cardboard then cut it out with scalpel. Not ideal for placing outside, but certainly looks the part inside the house. -{
If you can make something from cardboard look that great, then it gives me some confidence that I could make my monocular out of cardboard, and the lens from an old toilet roll. -{
Always have an escape plan. Mine is watching James Bond films.
Your topic has been viewed quite a few times though...I guess plenty of people just don’t like to post ‘thats nice/well done/looking good’ as it can be seen as underwhelming praise...I looked at your thread and was impressed with what you had achieved...oh, it’s also not a sock so you’ll get even fewer people looking at it :v
I enjoy looking at what people on here can create, most of the props replicated are amazingly accurate and you can see the love and care that goes into making them, it’s incredible -{
I just went back and remarked on the one comment I got.
So, a question: Similar to the comment in the thread, you note "what people ... create," "... most of the props replicated ...;" so is it your perception I made this piece or was that a secondary observation or ...?
The comments preceding yours acknowledge the screen-used aspect just curious about your remark here and the similarity to the remark in the other thread.
Yes, it is disheartening the "should I wear my Sunspel to brunch" thread got ten times the attention but that's AJB ...
Have to say this is my favorite line on ajb....

Have to say this is going to take some beating as the ultimate ajb quote !!

That was indeed a hilarious comment, and certainly disheartening when you put in so much effort towards acquiring or making something just to get no recognition. My own experience cannot compare prop-wise, but I remember posting pics elsewhere of my Jinx phone detonator and C4, complimented by a CD prop - both of which I thought would generate some interest because I hadn't seen anyone else complete replicas of both the phone and C4 as a set - and the CD being from a deleted scene which also featured said phone. But alas, the previous topic discussed days earlier ended up continuing around me, as if I hadn't posted at all.
Just to add, I remember seeing Alan's MR space station module when it was first shown. I wanted to comment, but wasn't a member here at the time. As if acquiring part of the actual scale model wasn't impressive enough, the light globes added inside was an ingenious way of complimenting the prop - the yellow-orange glow does indeed look like a realistic inferno. Amazing stuff. {[]
Perhaps, if an acquisition doesn't get the attention it deserves, then bumping the topic with further photos and details might get the ball rolling.
Cheers,
Andrew

Cheers mate! It's one I haven't seen in anyone else's collection yet. I learned a few things while making this, for instance: how to add the rough texture. Although not accurate, I'm pleased with how it turned out. The photos represent the size I chose to make it.

Many thanks guys, that means a lot -{ This is just what I acquired last month, or got around to completing. The motor oil has been in the works since as far back as 2014, so it feels bizarre to finally hold it in my hand/stomach. Maybe I'll continue to post my new additions at the end of each month?

Q's microchip, which he compares with the Zorin chip - latter on the way soon, to complete the set.

Fororro motor oil - should have a glossy label, but I'm happy with it for now.

Cheers, Matt - I'd love to see those original props sometime. You have Jinx' bikini by any chance? :v
I do not. It was removed.
Let me guess - your wife caught you in it? :v
