In that case, Zaphod99, one of us is bound to end up gravely disappointed.
I have a sneaking suspicion that it may well be me. Don't get me wrong, love the Miss Bassey, made the Pilgrimage many times...it would certainly not be the end of my world, just not my preference that's all.

Thought you guys might enjoy this. I had some cool new plugins to play around with, so we recorded our own Bond 25 song, with the title "Shatterhand." Just a fun side project, but I think it captures the Craig-era vibe pretty well. Check it out and let me know if you like it or hate it.

Being a Kiwi (or at least based there) you've no doubt heard of Bic Runga. Just interested to know what your thoughts are if she were to do a Bond theme song. For mine I think she would be perfect. The album 'Birds' is absolutely brilliant.

I 'discovered' Bic Runga on a trip to NZ about ten years ago and thought she had an amazing voice. I picked up a couple of CDs before heading home. Haven't heard anything new of hers in recent years but if she sounds the same today, I think she'd do a great Bond theme.
Ed Sheeran wrote a song for Bond three years ago. He is very keen on becoming a Bond title song artist and has the song in case he's asked some time in the future.

Everybody has their favorites for the Bond theme. Realistically, it will be someone (or a band) that is big internationally and is well known in the USA....that's just how its been. Unlike the old days, when the score composer wrote a theme song and then the composer and the producers went out and found a singer to perform it, most of the artists doing Bond themes today are also writing the song and it is hit or miss if they are even collaborating with the composer of the score.
Laura Mvula or Monarchy would be cracking choices.
Now she would be a superb choice. Lorde would also be good, but perhaps in a few years. No more dringey Ballads please I beg of you. Something big and ballsy with lots of Orchestration. Come to think of it Mvula would be ideal, she could do big but not overblown.

All great suggestions, clearly there is no shortage of suitable talent, Muse and Goldfrapp are perenialy on my wish list, yet we got Sam Smith with an anemic dirge and an accompanying boast re how quickly he dashed it off. That coupled with a Mendes score of mind numbing underachievement. Here's hoping...

Matt Monro?
I think that's going to be rather tricky...
If you want a legendary British act you can't beat Vera Lynn
You could get Matt Monro, Jr. I'm sure he's available.

Alas, not a legendary British act...

Please no. He's even more anodyne than the Crown prince of Beige Sam Smith if that's possible.
