This has been a long arduous process, started back in July 2016. We only needed 50 people and had 74 sign up, 13 dropped out at various stages of the game and were kind enough to inform me. We were then down to 64ish, 50 of whom confirmed at the beginning of December they were still in and now only 40 have paid. Its extremely frustrating and somewhat exhausting so dont hold your breath for polo's anytime soon!

    Fair enough.

My bank recently canceled my debit card due to "compromising circumstances" and then sent me a new one in the mail that I need to then activate.

Which could be another problem we could run into. Since TF has yet to actually charge us for these purchases, even if we hit 50, what if 6 or 7 payments get declined? We'll be right back to the 40 mark.

Simon and David have already given it a social media push. The problem is not getting people interested in this jacket, but rather getting people to commit to a $2,000 price tag with a distant delivery date.

I thought yours had already been confirmed by TF?

I expect a fraud alert from my bank when the jacket is charged.

Hopefully the alert will occur while I am awake so I can approve it immediately.
  • I have to resend payment info, because my original debit card is dead.

Im worried my card might get declined for fraud alert when purchasing this. Is there a way we can contact the credit card company to allow this transaction without having to call them after its been declined. I usually have this happen when I make purchase out of state. In this case out of the country.

I used to just call my bank in advance and they would make a note.

Either that Luigi will prob just tell you when its declined to call your bank to tell them its a valid transaction and let him know when he should try again. This actually is what happened to me many years ago when buying the TF QoS Cardigan from Milan.

This seems rather than strange to me-that we can't get 50 payments-if we think back on TF solden "cardigan"-with price tag of £1500,I think there are at least 500 people who bought it,and now chance to own HARRINGTON and only 40 takers! Cmon people.

If TF decided to release the Harrington in boutiques, Harrods, and Neiman Marcus with the Bond label it too would sell hundreds. This project is a group MTO where the only "advertising" is online to hardcore Bond fans. That being said it's disheartening that only two-thirds of the 64 who committed last month have authorized payment.

I do wonder how TF Milan decided on the minimum order of 50.

If we go for the polo. It needs to be a window offer, ie 4 weeks open to send info to Luigi. In or not. Sorted. I have a great relationship with him so would co-ordinate as a thank you to Simon

Not to take anything from Simon, but the polo project was going to fall to me (discussions have already ensued with TF as well as original item being discussed and the potential of it being sent for 100% replication, pattern etc...). That being said, I have had a ring side view of what Simon has gone thru with this Harrington project and I just don't know if I hate myself that much to do the polo one. Let's see how this goes before we discuss polos.

Well i would definitely be in if you can get the TF Polo project off the ground...I can probably afford the polo :))

I think if this project is a success then its prob very wise to take a bit of a break before any other major projects follow e.g. QoS Polo.

I imagine this Harrington project is maybe the biggest undertaken on AJB in terms of money commitment hence why many have unfortunately not managed to follow through with their payment.

No idea how much the QoS polo retailed for back in the day (the polo is something thats mysterious to me since rare) however I imagine we will still go through the same process e.g. tons signing up and not turning up when payment is due

Hopefully some more members have paid up for the Harrington in the last few days and we are slowly creeping up to the magic 50.

Do you guys mind if I advertise on style forum?
  • I have my new debit card as of now, and the only reason I have not sent payment info is because I'm debating with myself if I can go in for two jackets to get us closer to 50.

If I send payment info and my requested size does that finalize it? Or will I be able to add to my order and increase the quantity later on? Thanks Simon.

Would love to be able to commit but, after 6 months unemployed, funds are a bit tight at the moment. Am back in business as of last week, but it'll take a while to recover. Pity as it's a unique opportunity, but will have to settle for a Baracuta mid-term.

Best of luck, hope you reach the minimum soon.

Can't believe MR E has done a runner after all of the posts he's made about non payers and the information about being in touch with Luigi to constantly sort his card details. Very odd.
