SOLD: Goldfinger Razor prop - Bart and Marge

Hi guys,

It is with huge regret that I have to offer this up. I'm not wanting pity or sympathy but I have hit dire times and need to make a sale.

Below on offer for sale is a replica of the razor Sean Connery's bond uses in Goldfinger in which a hidden miniature of the homer device issued by Q is housed.

This replica prop was made for my own personal collection and only two were ever made. As the large tracking bug is named a 'Homer' in the film, it's smaller version got nicknamed 'Bart'. And Bart comes out of Marge.... Hence the prop was nicknamed Marge and Bart.

Featuring the head of a genuine Gillette Slim Adjustable razor, the collar, handle and cap were turned by hand in brass and then chrome plated. The head and its parts were taken from a scrap Gillette slim adjustable and features the date stamp 'J', this is significant as it's the year stamp for 1964, the same year Goldfinger was released.

The end cap unscrews as is actioned by Connery on screen, however the original prop featured a cap which simply slid over the end of the handle. Connery faked the action of unscrewing it, but, trying to remain as faithful to what you see on screen, mine unscrews instead.

Inside the handle is a recess which houses a miniature 'bart' homing device. This is again hand machined in brass and features all the original designs of the genuine prop.

I'm gonna offer this up as a blind auction, no reserve or starting price. If there's an offer I consider enough then it'll sell.

To give you an idea though, this piece took me 45hrs to produce. Take into account a junior modelmaker will charge around £15/hr. You do the maths.

I'd like to sell this to someone I know or have dealt with before, I'm really not in a position to entertain tyre kickers. Serious collectors only, please.

    You just keep doing that mg, and I'm sure you'll soon be on the other side. I never like to hear of people going through difficulties, particularly fellow members here. It always seems to be the good guys too. -{
