Agreed, therein lies the danger.
As you know, the bad guys are always the Russians. Or are they?

"- That is something to be afraid of."
I do too, between the Russians, the Chinese, the North Koreans and ISIS/Al-Queada/the Taliban etc. the world has entered a new Dark Age.
The North Koreans will start aggression towards it neighbouring countries, China will step up to that fight, the Russians will align against the Chinese and put us in opposition to the Russians.
Since Putin came to power the Russians are commiting as bad atrocities within their own country since the 50's.
Yes, a dangerous situation indeed! Let´s just hope that the American people will do the right thing and elect an arse of their own to counterbalance things! It will be just like during the cold war, except instead of the balance of power and threat of the assured mutual destruction there will be the balance of bling and the threat of arsed mutual douchedom....

Yes, and the first annexation of a sovereign state since 1945 with Crimea. The clock seems to be turning back inexorably to the bad old days. Worrying times that we live in!
Am I reading you correctly if I think you are comparing Putin to Stalin (died in 1953)? While Putin is an authoritarian leader and today's Russia is pretty much paying deocracy lip service, I don't think he can be campared to the Soviet leaders in general and Stalin in particular.
Putin has a background from "The security organs". His power leans heavily on FSB and he likes to recruit leaders from that service (and St Petersburg). I don't think a name-change signals a real change in policy.
No, he's part of the problem in Syria but Russia is too big to be ignore or to fall out with and so there's little that the Western powers can realistically do with him (unless he wants to do it himself of course).
