Belstaff Patterson Jacket Alternative?

Hey guys,

Looking for a few leads on alternatives on the patterson jacket that Craig is frequently seen in. Are there any other brands that have similar cuts or styling?

Also, a side question. Does anyone know how hard it is to tailor leather? I have long arms (26.5-27 inches from shoulder seam) but a tall and slim frame and I have a feeling that I will need tailoring on whatever I do get.

Thanks!

    Ralph Lauren Purple Label Kalahari Newsboy jacket

    Ralph Lauren Delemar reversible Newsboy jacket

    Ralph Lauren Sanford Newsboy jacket

    Ralph Lauren Kingsley Newsboy leather jacket

    As you can see Ralph Lauren does this style of jacket alot, season after season.

    Just had to get my Matchless jacket tailored. I had the sleeves shortened and was able to take in the jacket by deepening and extending the rear darts. That work cost me $90. My tailor is an expert at leather, and I would recommend that you go to a leather expert as well. Most normal tailors either can't do it or will do it, but won't do nearly as good of a job. If she had to take the jacket apart at the shoulder and chest, she quoted me at $200-$300. Of course, this was for a suede jacket, but I would imagine it would be similar. Most alterations can be done, but each leather jacket is unique and really requires an expert to know how to work best with the jacket. I had my regular tailor shorten sleeves on a pig skin leather jacket once, and it didn't turn out so well.

    Just realised that you may be looking for a black leather jacket in that "newsboy" style. That's something that I haven't seen too much of, except perhaps the Aero Highwayman and half-belt.

    There is a company based out of Greece called Thedi leathers.

    The owner is Theodoros Pampoukas. He's a really lovely chap, and super friendly. I have been in contact with him about doing a custom jacket, but unfortunately the project never got off the ground (crappy exchange rate on my part). But he has been extremely helpful throughout, and he KNOWS HIS LEATHER JACKET. You can contact him and see if he can do a custom job for you to mimic the Pattersons.

    Matchless Inverness. I know nafets47 had one. I'd ask him. It's almost the same design.

    Very similar in design. I had an Inverness and Patterson.

    Inverness is much heavier and is a longer jacket with different cuffs. I feel the Inverness is a better built jacket and actually like it more, however it is really only for people who live outside of Florida. -{
