Why does Bond investigate the uranium bullet in Skyfall?

In the movie, Bond gets shot by Patrice. Right? Ok, so after Bond sends the shrapnel in for analysis, the man investigating it tells bond that the bullet is used by a multitude of agents. "Recognize anyone?", says the investigator. A screen pops up with a few agents who use that type of depleted uranium round.

My question is: what does it matter what kind of agents use that type of round when Bond knows that Patrice is the one who shot him?

Bond knew what the man who shot him looked like but not who he was, so he thought he could find out who he was from the bullet still in his chest. After they finished analsying the shrapnel and identified it as a uranium shell, Tanner showed him pictures of the few agents who use uranuiam bullets so that Bond could pick out which one he recognised. From this Tanner could give Bond the information he needed to track Patrice to Shanghai
