The IMDB message boards ran for over 15 years. Deleted on Monday despite huge protest by the IMDB community. Farewell boards! I visited the boards for many years so it's sad to see them go.
It's possible some Bond fans from IMDB's James Bond board may register on this site.

This place has always been, and remains, different. There are plenty of threads on this board that hold no interest for me, and it is not uncommon for some of what I read here to annoy the hell out of me. But with very few exceptions, everyone here is polite and respectful of others. Amazing how rare that has become on the web and in society in general.
So, to all members, mods, Si, Dr. Beckmann and Professor Markowitz...my most profound thanks. -{
Actually, your ability to do all of this in English is amazing. The only three Norwegian "words" I know are Kjetil Andre Aamodt.
I know perfectly well how they are written and have doen so since I was a kid, but my fingers won't type what I'm thinking
You write in English better than half of people here who say they are in English-speaking countries.
No, seriously. That's really nice to hear. But I do edit my posts for mistakes quite a lot. To be honest I do react when I see how often the apostrophe is used wrong, English-speakers included.
I do indeed see a lot of that on the internet. People don't know that it should almost never be used for plural, not even when talking about DVDs. Apostrophes can be used for plural in single letters and numbers: o's and 7's. Concerning uppercase letters, I believe some accept Os and O's to both be correct. But when people use it's and its improperly, I get really confused.
Yes, in primary schools.
" I don't listen to hip hop!"
True, but also on this forum

Well done all we make it what it is - a pleasant place to be to take Solice from everyday life and share a passion (even if it is an expensive one at times!). Having been recently briefed on the DarkNet there are worse places to hang out )
I have visited and been party to many sites but over the years have come down to just two both of which support my personal passion Bond and Watches. And both sites have a similar feel and vibe that works for me. Finally one day I will join the Aston Martin owners forum just need to save my sheckles first to buy one!
Long may that continue

It doesn't have many users but should grow in size.

I think it has something to do with the first three series shot on video tape rather than film.
Yes, I think it was called monochrome.
Monochrome means black-and-white. The first Peel series was also monochrome, but shot on film rather than tape. Film holds up much better. It also allowed the production values to be higher than tape did.
Yes, I thought as much. Thanks for filling in the details there.
I suppose that the Cathy Gale episodes of The Avengers are available on DVD though?
I have a few of the colour Emma Peel series on DVD boxsets I've picked up here and there.
The problem is that IMDb pretended to have a system of moderation, but in reality it didn't. When the Baz Luhrmann version of The Great Gatsby came out, there was one poster who started about five separate threads on that movie's message board asking if there was any "making of" footage of the car accident in which Myrtle Wilson is killed. I searched for other content by this person and 95% of his posts were related to the death scenes of female characters. I reported the poster to IMDB with numerous links to the threads this obviously disturbed individual had started. Never heard anything back and they didn't take down any of the posts.
I miss it to.
I used to use it for the exact same reason as you and also to find spoilers.
The trolls nearly killed a couple of threads I was using so I can why they have taken the decision they have.
I saw one of the reasons they closed it was because 'we have an enthusiastic but small number of members who use the forums' ...this surprised me but maybe looking at how many members they have compared to forum users is insignificant and requires hard work of moderating.
they're played a little straighter than the Diana Rigg episodes, less stylised and without so much of the ironic comic rapport MacNee and Rigg had
Blackman does have the martial arts moves though, theres always at least one hand to hand combat sequence featuring her per episode, you can see why they had to write in a scene for her to throw Connery around in Goldfinger
never seen those dvd's in stores though, there is currently a relatively cheap 16dvd boxset with every Diana Rigg episode, which I think all you bond fans need in your collection, and I now need those Blackman era episodes to sit along side it
do we have an Avengers thread? the more I work my way through the Rigg-era boxset, the more I want to read other folks opinions on this zany stuff
Well they did moderate but I don't know how good of a job they did. People got banned all the time and there were lots of messages/threads that were deleted by moderators. People would just register with another account/e-mail though. I wouldn't want to see a message board closed because the moderators weren't that great though. I don't need a moderator. I just ignored the trolls/morons by not paying attention to their stupid posts or by actually choosing the Ignore option so their messages didn't even appear.
