Hi All does anyone here have any experience with home cctv and alarm systems?
i'm hoping to connect a cam system with recorder to an alarm system that will trigger if a motion sensor it tripped etc
plus with the option to view via an app.
i hope thats not too vague
cheers

Had lots of consulting by the police and by traditional alarm guys before I gave the order.
First line of action will be to check your windows and dorrs. Because if burglars are faced with resistence, they often let go and try the next home
Next step will be to decide which alarm system is appropriate and what happens, if the alarm is triggered.
IMO, it does not make sense when you
1. make it too easy to enter your home with weak windows
2. then watch the burglars on your CCTV when they raid your home and you are too far away to do something against it.
You may see some faces after the deed (unless they steal your taping device) but your stuff is gone.
I'd chose a different line of action.

If you have security concerns/ live somewhere that has seen a spate of burglary, simple things such as not keeping regular leaving arriving times, light timers that come on at different times in different rooms ( change the sequence regularly) and leaving different curtains in different positions daily, leaving a radio on tuned to a station that has majority talk all will help to make a burglar uncertain.
We dont have break-ins down here but have had some vandalism of late
