I’ve owned the sting for about 4 years. I don’t like carrying a fixed blade, so I can’t speak to it as an EDC, but it has seen some use around the house and the edge retention is pretty good. It’s a very solid knife and feels great in the hand.

That's a bit depressing, though I'm sure with a bit of elbow grease & gentle pressure, those rough edges will give way to a good feel. The one thing that's always impressed me are the tolerances of the machining. Then again, having used AK-47s before, it's the lack of those very tight tolerances that make the AK the most user friendly assault rifle ever devised. A note, make sure you have as good an armorer as we had to be sure of accuracy, as I'm certain you've heard; the AK is the main reason for the spray & pray method. Our armorer made it so that we never had that problem with them.
I'm guessing you have either received your new Walther already or have been to an LGS to check one out? In my case, I tried to let my LGS nab one for me to no avail, so I've had to use other methods. Either way, I HAVE to buy one now since I am giving my wife my S&W M&P Bodyguard 380 for her carry weapon. I have a few 9mm handguns I could carry, but I prefer something smaller since I'm skin & bones at 6'2" 150#, wearing chelsea boots, a leather jacket, & carrying a small horse, LOL.
A 9mm of any size is just too noticeable for concealed carry in my case & with the way things are in the world there's zero chance of me rolling around without a decent firearm in my belt. Plus, owning a security consulting company & being unsecured doesn't wash terribly well.
Our local bank has been robbed twice recently, once about 15 minutes after I left the lobby & a few years ago, on NYE, my wife & I went to play pool early in the evening, before the drunks began to crowd the roadways. An hour & 15 minutes after we'd left, a young woman was shot while entering her car in the parking lot we'd been parked in. The crazy thing is the parking lot is adjacent to that town's police department!
I'll let you know what I think once I receive my Walther. If you'd be kind enough to give me your firing impressions, I'd appreciate that too.

I have very limited experience in firerarms, but I had the oportunity to experience the glock 17. In fact it was the first ever 9 mm I ever shot. I cannot own firearms in 9mm in Mexico. but I live just in the border with USA and have had the chance to rent one in a shooting range close to the border.
I will always remember my first shot. It was very accurate. Then came my recoil anticipating thing and while trying to fix that I ruined my trigger control and it took me a long while to be decent with the glocks. I was somewhat better with 1911s.
The 17 is the original glock. The magazines drop just right. Not the same with the 19. At least not with the CA legal 10 rounders. The 17 is great in may regards, but if I was to carry one would only be in a holster and never appendix.
I am sure that if I do dry fire a 17 I will have decent to good shots.

But as far as setting the standard, Glock is an industry latecomer and wasn't even the first polymer pistol. H&K claimed that milestone with the VP70 in 1970. The Glock 17 debuted more than a decade later.
Glock does have the honor of being the most prolific. Exactly why they're referred to as the "Toyota Corolla of handguns" in professional circles. )

@walther p99, I agree the Sig Sauer P226 is one of the best 9mm pistols you can get. The fact that many military special forces and law enforcement personnel carry and use them really speaks to this. Plus testing by the US Navy SEALS revealed that a P226 can be subjected to great abuse and still function where as similar pistols failed. I am planning on getting an airsoft P226 in the near future, I think it will go nicely with the airsoft Walther PPK and P99 that I have.

I liked the review/heads up on the real Bond strap. I have the exact same watch and use the NATO strap version with the right colors though. I must say that while I did not look hard for screen accuracy one thing I don't like about mine is the added thickness due to the strap, looping below the watch itself. The finnish of the strap, the colors and the threading looks very nice otherwise.
The Ocean 1 vintage is already a big watch and my wrist relatively small, the authentic strap will help.

He copied it off of the well-photographed, authenticated and auctioned SP holster in every way, so whatever he's missing isn't apparent to him or anyone else who's never handled one of the "set (not necessarily screen) used" versions firsthand.
Either way, one of my points was that it hasn't been endorsed here for whatever reason when the Kirkpatrick has. Which is a bit puzzling considering its vast improvement on the "SA-ness" scale over any other commercially available shoulder holster.

Don’t take it so personally. I said it was as accurate as anyone will ever get. Which is no easy thing due to the weird way it’s made. To get the design right and getting it to actually fit as well is nothing short of genius. Considering he only went off pictures too makes the end product even more impressive. I’ve dealt with Makeitjones for years and he’s made me quite a few holsters including a couple of custom ones, and even the literary Bonds 418 IWB . The quality of them are exceptionally high.
I actually owned one of his holsters and they are great. I really appreciate his craftsmanship and it’s very cool that he offers both the poster as well as the Christie’s auction versions. As Cajun and Asp have said, he’s the closest you can get!
Tempted to get one for concealed carry, especially since it's been hard finding a shoulder setup holster setup that is remotely subtle. Anyone know how badly makeitjones's shoulder holsters tend to print?

This holster has a big print because of the design. It’s a prop and not meant to be worn as a real world holster. For a low profile holster check out Ken Null. About as comfortable and subtle as it’s possible to get.
If printing is your main concern, also check out the alternative Kirkpatrick rig. I own it in black, and it’s very low profile without sacrificing traditional shoulder holster features.

Have a few shoulder holsters on order to scratch that itch, but this one really is tempting. Also, if memory serves, the Kirkpatrick Detective is technically prop accurate, since the production used it for a scene in Skyfall (though it isn't seen on screen).

Kirkpatrick is great, but this one was made by a UK Bond fan for Bond fans. I've dealt with makeitjones several times with excellent results.
