Flooding in our area, (or Mother Nature Always Wins)

Video from Doniphan, Missouri, my hometown...the Current River is normally 30 feet under the bridge...the bridge is now under 5 feet of water. It has wiped out many homes along the river and many businesses.....

In 1982 I helped when the river crested at 24 feet above flood stage...it is at 33 feet above now...

We had to get 4 prisoners out of the jail which had 2 feet of water in it...none of them were dangerous so we turned them loose....life in a small town.

We love the Current River, but she can make trouble...because it's a mountain stream, it has no where to go but up when it rains too much..

Dea,r Ammo08,flooding is such a terrible event ,and I ,and I and all the gang here wish you your family ,friends and neighbours a safe passage until the river subsides back to normal ,I live in London not far from old father Thames ,and it to one day will get angry and give London its wake up call ,its the main reason why we bought our house on top of a very high hill
By the way, did I tell you, I was "Mad"?

I hope everyone is safe. Unfortunately this might be a sign Mother Nature is losing. There had always been floods (there is even one in the Old Testament, or so they say ...) and one can't say anything definite from one event, but extreme weather will get more and more common due to climate change.

My thoughts go out to you ammo and your community, water is a devastating destructive force.
I live in an area which is prone to flooding, I see the effects most winters ( though this last winter was a dry one) the village I used to live in had flood defences built to keep the river ouse at bay, but every year the river would rise and spill over the opposite bank which was an ings or natural flood plane. Still others in the area could be cut off for normally about 5 weeks.
I hope your town returns to normal as quickly as possible.
It was either that.....or the priesthood

My house is fine, we have a cousin and her grandbaby staying with us until the water goes down in her neighborhood.
