I'm watching a documentary about nature and people in the Himalayas - simply stunning!
Wouldn't it be great having a Bond film where a large part of the story take place on a climbing expedition? High Time to Kill is an obvious referance, but I don't think the mountains story can take up much more than 1/3 of the movie. This would set the movie apart from the other Bond movies and most other action movies.
the death of Bonds parents would be the even more obvious reference, and of course the son of Hans Oberhauser is now a character in the story, there's a couple of excuses for climbing content
I've had it up to here (raises hand over head as far as I can reach) with Bond's past and family, so no.
Could not agree more. It's a shame, as if the 'personal angle' had not been so poorly executed in Spectre this would have been a much better opportunity to explore it. Maybe after a few proper missions it can surface in a future adventure. In the meantime Bond needs distance from his past and MI6 needs to 'get out more'

I agree. The angle of Bond's past was handled well in Skyfall and it was just enough and SPECTRE should have left well enough alone.
There was a rumor regarding the plot of Bond 25 that there is another agent from Bond's past but I think that's quite a bit different from all the family stuff. Bond has had a long history from being an intelligence officer to a "OO" so crossing paths again with another operative that he has a history with would be quite realistic and not a stretch.

Agreed. However I'd still much prefer an outward focus and not an internal/personal struggle. As always 'God is in the detail ' and it depends upon how it is done. Still speculation and rumour at this stage. I'd not come across this one can you identify the source?

Here's the post that contained the rumors. As you will see, I "mis-remembered" and it is actually the female villain that has some connection with Bond.....which sounds too much like to SPECTRE. Bond does allegedly have a "mentor" relationship with a young agent.
"A Reddit user called "CahleyPersia" has posted about Bond25. I don't know anythging about this peron, but MI6Community seems to find him believable enough to quote him in their production diary.
Here is the post. Discuss:
I've gained some more clarity on the situation:
Boyle will film the Richard Curtis comedy this summer. Then he will immediately begin pre-production on Bond 25. He will then shoot that film throughout 2019 and it will arrive in cinemas in November that year.
The release of the Richard Curtis comedy hasn't been set. The deal between Eon and Working Title allows for Boyle to edit the films concurrently. So when Bond 25 stops shooting, Danny will edit both films at the same time.
Despite being filmed first, you likely won't see the Richard Curtis comedy before you see Danny's Bond film.
Boyle is said to have a female villain at the centre of his Bond film and he is actively casting the role now. They want an A-list actress for the role. I've heard the usual suspects of A-listers who have supposedly met with Boyle or will meet with him. I have a friend at CAA and the part is billed as someone with a "personal connection" to Bond.
There is also a role of a young female MI6 agent who Bond is said to mentor. This role may even be informally cast already.
John Hodge has finished his draft. He will likely remain the sole writer of the project. Despite internet gossip, Danny Boyle is not officially writing the script.
Thanks for that. It's certainly interesing. Bond as Mentor is not something I think we have seen before (maybe a tad with that young Whipersnapper Q) Could be a nice idea as long as they avoid them getting offed in the first reel and it 'becomes personal'
Of that of which we cannot speak we must pass over in silence- Ludwig Wittgenstein.
I want the full Bond theme during an action scene with the full PA-Da-Dada dadada, fan fare please Barbie and Mickey-Gee.
And I want Bond to be in a big yellow dingy with the bond girl at the end.
The title them woven in the score more.
A world threatening villain plot with actual life or death stakes.
Agree with all of the above- but is the new film to be held up waiting for Rachel Weisz and DC to have their baby.
Get another actor- there's plenty around and start the new era, and if a Mr Boyle puts other films ahead of Bond
get a different Director too ! (controversial maybe?)

Bleuville.
If 25 is delayed ( and it's by no means certain as far as I know) I doubt if it be because of the pregnancy. If we want to see a new Bond film in our lifetime ditching Craig would be a very bad move as would getting a new Director (remember Boyle has not yet been officially announced) I'm hoping to meet Boyle as he's filming in my Road for the next two weeks so I can't really avoid him even if I wanted to. Don't expect that he will give anything away to a Muggle, but I may get a sense of things.
He is possibly the best news we could have re 25. That plus no P&W and Craig determined for a fitting send off bode well. Timescales are the only fly in the ointment for me. Boyles current production is small-scale and low key. However I Know How LONG They Have Been Here For what will be a weeks filming.

Is it possible to parachute out of the bomb bay of a B-2 stealth bomber? If it is vaguely possible it would be great if Bond did a HAHO jump out of a B-2 (or a B-21 if the movies keep getting delayed )) to get into a country fast and undetected.
I think under the Schengen Area agreement, it's very easy to get in to a country undetected. )
( a little bit of polotics there people ....... Ben Elton )
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
I am hoping for a kickass female villain. I think we are due for one. As far as other wishes, I never seem to have many heading into these films. I just wait and see and get excited.
My wish list top is: David Arnold returning. I just remember watching the premiere of Spectre and all I was concentrating on was the cut/copy sound track. It was bloody terrible!! I walked out thinking 'How could they!!!!'. I still watch Spectre and know exactly in Skyfall where the track is from. Newman sucks balls for doing that to us. Maybe a cost cutting in production or they just thought the formula worked for Skyfall. Either way it's up there with the CGI in DAD as a top 3 gripe of mine. The other is Lazenby not returning
David Arnold on CR style duty.
Mission story. No family melodrama. This isn't Corrie.
NO London climax scene. In fact, minimal London. Just like the old days. Aahhh.
One scriptwriter, If Hodge writes the whole script, keep it to him with no other rewrites. Good enough for Boyle, good enough for me.
I wonder who Boyle wants to sing the theme tune? I don't know much about his taste in music, but I know he is very interested in it. If David Bowie was still alive Boyle would probably want him.
What do you think?

All the copy and pasting from SF in SP does the film no favors. It just makes me think how much better SF is and how I would rather be watching it.

It depends. If the artist is already picked he doesn't have a say, no matter what. But he is probably the most famous Bond director ever (or at least since the 60's) and he is very interested in music. I think his opinion on the artist and theme song will carry some weight.

Being a ‘famous film director’ doesn’t mean diddly as far as picking the theme title artist...but I admire your optimism -{

Have you already forgotten about Mendes? He's an incredibly famous director too. The only other very famous director for Bond would be Lewis Gilbert. Michael Apted and Marc Forster also have their share of fame beyond Bond. Everyone else is probably best-known for Bond these days.
ooh that is good, he pulls off the ballad! and makes his later Duke Ellington cover sound like The Stooges in comparison.
I gotta find that Shaken and Stirred album. I think I'd like it more than most of the recent movies. I know I especially like the funky OHMSS cover with the YOLT mid-section.

I don't think Forster is as famous as Boyle, and certainly not Apted. Maybe Mendes is, and I forgot Lewis Gilbert made Bond movies in the 70's.

Iggy would be great. Counter cultural Icon but old skool. Could tick all the boxes.
