This won't make collectors feel better, and this isn't an invitation to spoilers, but if NTTD is to present a James Bond who's out of the game, the clothing might be a bit of a thematic echo.
Consider: He's hung it up, he's taken off his armor, he no longer feels the need to put on this "007 Costume." It's full circle from CR, where Vesper put him in a different dinner jacket so he would "look like you belong at that table." He's no longer at the table and he's exhaled into a plain 50-year-old man's wardrobe.
Might not be what you're interested in, but narratively it makes sense.
We all need to stop blaming the storylines..(We are all guilty of it me included)
In Skyfall, he was out of the game in Turkey as well yet they still picked decent outfits!
The reason is very simple. We have a new custome designer, Suttirat Larlarb. She has different vision, different vendors, different approach.
The sooner we accept this fact and stop making excuses for how average the outfits look, the sooner we all move on.
Like I said I’m just excited for the movie itself at this point and still crossing fingers for at least one decent outfit to still appear. Honestly, I don’t even think DC had much influence either, his taste is way better than this.

Yeah I have a feeling your right - I think a lot of it suits the story i.e. Out of the game, travelling around with Swann.
Jany also had her negatives in my opinion. Pushed a lot of the casual stuff to Tom Ford - I mean there was a hell of a uproar here about a 500 quid polo shirt and Ski pants at the time.
Then we had the Moncler knockoff TF Ski Blouson and then the also copied John Varvatos (sorry Matchless ) jacket
SPECTRE ties were rather bland also.
Of course the positive outweighs the negative but there was some strange things and of course Skyfall is when DC really started getting ridiculed for his suit fit which still carries on today despite improvement in NTTD
Anyhow I will reserve judgement until the film release
I agree with all of this, and it might well be that Bond's return to MI6 is when we finally see him as he should be. Judging by the TF suits we've seen, I would say that it's a good bet. It might be a moment like the end of CR where the audience says, "There's the character we love!"
The more I look at the chore jacket over henley combo, the more I like it. It would work well for my casual style through Florida winters. This wardrobe is shaping up to be different than the other movies, but I think that's a good thing, even if it's not as stylish in some regards as past pieces. I enjoy learning and acquiring pieces from labels I've never heard of before. I rarely buy the exact thing that was in the movie, and more something from the brand that is influenced by the movie. I'm ashamed to say I had never heard of Barbour until SkyFall. I have a Bedale and it's one of my favorite jackets now. As awesome as the Tom Ford items are, they are just more than I'm willing/able to spend atm, so it's nice getting defferent brands, in my opinion.
Honestly, I don’t even think DC had much influence either, his taste is way better than this.
While we can subjectively debate the merits of his personal sense of style, based on all that I’ve seen, it is not debatable that DC has almost total influence over Bond’s wardrobe. The costume designer is perhaps responsible for the other characters, but there’s no basis to give Craig a pass.
I really am starting to like the jacket. I've been staring at the jacket on permanentstyle for months and somehow didn't recognize it from the filming pics.
Apparently there was also a red corduroy version of the jacket.
Here are some pics from permanentstylelondon's Instagram that show off some details of the jacket.
I just spoke to Connolly - he said they have had a number of requests this morning regarding the jacket (i dont think it has clicked with them yet why!!). He said it was a big seller for them and its sold out and will not be back in stock. They will do a re-release of the same style in summer 2020 but it will NOT be in the denim blue colour and it will be a different material as well so this version looks like it will be unavailable for good!
I dont really get why these brands do not take advantage of the bond phenomenom and launch again a million pcs of their items SA. They would sell all of them!

Because before Bond fans show interest in their product, most of the brands don't even know they will appear in a Bond movie.
And after they are aware of that, it's too late to relaunch the model.
The production of a garment is not a decision you take on a snap!!!
To be honest i don't think they were aware...maybe that's the reason they sold so well is they were purchased for the film!!! I am popping into the store here in London today so will see what else they have to say about it.
Well. Even without the Bond connection if it’s being sold so well why don’t launching again. And yes I understand a relaunch might not be easy but if proven to be a success I guess it’s worth it.

I guess brands are currently working on fall/winter 2020 collections....mayber later seasons!!!
The brands which are not used to be connected to Bond and their fans maybe don't even keep their old "patrons" of their collections....
But look just right here how it is long and difficult to have Tom Ford to remake a blouson or some ties!!!
They don't have the fabric anymore in some cases and you have to send them your own SA garment for them to duplicate it......really complicated process and not financially interesting for such brands.
I have just been into the Connolly store - the manager called me this morning about the jacket. When I spoke to him today he said he had a huge number of emails about the jacket and he wondered what the hell is going on! Now i have shown him the pictures and he and his colleague recall the lady who was picking up pieces from the store. He said they also sold some chinos and short sleeve linen shirts from the collection to the film crew...whether they will be used or not who knows but again they were sold out. They said only a small handful of pieces are made - say 10-15. They will be making the same style for next year summer, in both suede and pure linen but they have not been told the colours yet. I asked if they could reproduce the same SA version and he said no as the material is sourced from 7 months before they make the jacket....if they do succumb to pressure and end up sourcing it then it will involve additional cost as it will be difficult to find the material. The manager mentioned what a good price point the jacket was at £330...to give you rough idea the clothing in there is super expensive...suede or leather jackets are £2k+. They have taken my details down and they are creating a "James Bond" list to see how much interest it generates.

If you want, I'd be happy to include the information about the "James Bond" list in my website post about the jacket. Credit to you for getting the project started and I'll add the connolly email as the point of contact. Just let me know!

Thanks for the info and leg work! As for me, I ordered the Save Khaki jacket for now to see if it's something I would actually use.

That’s a great looking jacket. It has a lot more character in these photos than it does in the long distance set pictures.
And of course, being nice, it looks like it will be incredibly hard to get.
This is a job for Daniel Love!
Now that I've seen it up close, I have higher hopes for the Nordstrom Rack alternative on the way. )
Wasn't me. Full credit goes to the guy following me on IG. The jacket is sold out now (of course). But it was a cotton/linen blend.
Apparently there was also a red corduroy version of the jacket.

Just waiting for "The Niner" to id all the knives in that picture, so that I can indulge in my primary sickness....

A porkpie hat would complete the hipster aesthetic.
I like the individual pieces in this picture separately. Together as an outfit it's a disaster.
