I wouldn’t mind Michael Bublé doing a Bond theme. He definitely has the voice for it, is from Canada—a Commonwealth country (unlike Beyoncé)—and I think he is the perfect level of fame for Bond (not Beyoncé level but not unknown).
If you haven’t heard it, have a listen to his version of Cry Me A River. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yopNkcDzQQw It sounds like it’s straight from a Bond soundtrack...and reading the comments of the video it seems like others share that view.
I wouldn't mind Beyonce, not my first choice and like most her stuff I'm just meh about it. I still think Muse could do a great bond track.
Have thought for a long time that Muse could be great. It's high time for an uptempo/upbeat theme. Enough with the dringey Ballads already I beg of you. Not sure of their international profile though, whether its strong enough for EON to go with. I'd have no problem with Queen B though. Agree she is hardly a young persons thing, but now solidly mainstream so should not frighten the Horses (similarly Taylor Swift)
As long as they avoid some hackneyed shtick dashed off in 15 minutes it will be progress.
Of that of which we cannot speak we must pass over in silence- Ludwig Wittgenstein.
Michael Bublé has a great voice and I'm sure the die-hard Bond fans will embrace him, but is he really considered cool? Unlike Dua Lipa or Beyonce I don't think he will bring a larger audience to Bond.

I'd say Muse have a bigger international following than Sam Smith, they are constantly on world tours selling out arenas. I'd much prefer a return to a Chris Cornell style.
Sam smiths opening line on the wotw said it all for me.

Does anybody think that people go see the film because of the song? The title track needs to set the tone for the film. Nothing more, nothing less. In recent times, the worst tracks have accompanied the worst films (DAD, Spectre). They should worry less about the profile of the artist and more about what type of tone they want to set.
And there is zero chance Beyonce sings the track, so let’s just dispense with that nonsense.
The noms were out for the Grammys on 7 December and many of you might be happy to hear that neither Sam Smith or Adele got nominated.
All of DC's films have had multiple Grammy award winners sing the song, Spectre, Sam Smith, Skyfall, Adele, Quantum, Alicia Keys and Jack White, Casino, the late Chris Cornell.
I am wondering, as Madeleine is back, and it's going to be a bit of coupledom for Bond, I was wondering if multiple Grammy award winners, Jay-Z and Beyonce, under their The Carters banner could be candidates for the Bond25 theme.
Looking at the nominees and who is a multiple winner, other candidates could be;
Toni Braxton
Taylor Swift
Lady Gaga
FYI Arctic Monkeys have also been nominated, but rarely do bands do Bond themes. I can only think of Wings, A-ha, Duran Duran and Garbage, four out of 24 films.
I'd like to see the classic approach to the Bond 25 theme: David Arnold and Don Black to write the song and they get a popular singer to perform it. The singer brings her/his performance style but doesn't get to bring in the song. This way we get a song that best fits the film and we get a performer who draws attention to the film.
Oops sorry zaphod, just suggested someone with a history of dringey ballads )
Each to his own and all that...personally have never seen the point of him it's kind of Karaoke to me. Discussing him a while back with Mrs. Z when I said why not just play SInatra she wisely offered " yes but you can't go and see Frank Sinatra now can you" Seems like a charming chap just all a bit Beige but he would do a good job. It's just that I'd prefer Bond to look forward.

A lot of people went o the Louvre in Paris becaue a Beyonce/Jay-Z Music was shot there, so it's very possible many more will go to the local cinema to see a Bond film where she sings the title song. But just like Beyonce fans who dislike art probably
didn't go to the Louvre just because Beyonce had been there, no-one who dislike Bond will watch Bond25 just because Beyonce sings in it. It's about creating interest among people, and Beyonce obviously does that.
And please explain to us why Beyonce singing the title song is imposible, please.

I didn't know she is anti-male. As far as I know she is both working with and married to a man, persumably voluntarily. It is also news to me that she's anti- Bond. Can you tell me how you know this?
If Lea Seydoux in Mission Impossible four years before SPECTRE wasn't a problem, I don't think Beyonce in Austin Powers sixteen years ago should be a problem. I get that Austin Powers is a parody of (mainly) Bond, but still ….

I don’t think it is a stretch to presume that Bond is representative of a lot of things she and her husband have been very outspoken against. Namely a so-called white male patriarchy. Whether you agree with that characterization or not, many people on the fringes of the American left, where Beyoncé and Jay-Z firmly reside, have adopted that view.

That's interesting.....but I don't think James Bond, especially the current Bond, is much of a political flashpoint with anyone in the USA.
Studio exec's, celeb's, men in power, etc who are assaulting and abusing women are.
I am more interested in who will be hired to do the score for Bond 25 than who will do the title song. If David Arnold returns, I would like it to be someone who is willing to collaborate on the title song with Arnold. For me, a title song that can be incorporated into the score works well.

Jay-Z is a well known fan of James Bond. Assuming someone is anti-male just because they vote for a different political party (presumably) than you and are stating the obvious fact that men have and has had more power in society than women is jumping to conclusions. We don't want to get into politics here, but I suggest we get rid of the "anti-male" and "anti-Bond" alligations right here and now".

This is why Adele was chosen for Skyfall. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/earshot/adele-21-730000-sales-grammys-number-one-21st-week-album-of-year-293531
"Just when it seemed like Adele couldn’t get any bigger, she boosted sales of her latest album 21 by more than 200 percent after winning six awards at the Grammys. After taking home Album of the Year honors at last Sunday’s ceremony, the singer-songwriter continued her dominance of the pop charts with a 21st week at Number One on the Billboard 200 chart"

I refer the honourable gentlemen to my previous post of 12 December 2018 https://www.ajb007.co.uk/post/936087/#p936087
On that last point about bands, of course Fukunaga has said he likes Duran Duran's A View To A Kill.

The Arctic Monkeys also get NME's approval.

Because she’s too expensive. EON won’t pay her exhorbitant fees.
Compared to Beyonce, yeah.
Besides, she’s very anti Bond and that sort of male character.

He is about as cool as Cliff Richard )
Never even considered. Band members said it should be, but EON always wanted Adele.

Adele is one of the biggest selling artists of the 21st century. Muse is not on any of these lists.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_albums_of_the_21st_century
Muse have won Grammys, in 2010 and 2015, their only two wins.

EON will choose an artist that has sold huge numbers of albums very recently and who has won multiple Grammys.
Adele, Beyonce and Ed Sheeran in 2015, 2016 and 2017, respectively, had the biggest selling albums. They are all multi-Grammy winners.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_albums_of_the_21st_century#Best-selling_album_by_year
Taylor Swift had the biggest album of 2018. She has won 10 Grammys.

The 2019 Grammys ceremony is on 10 February.
As I said, it’s a fringe view, but it exists.
