If someone who knows Morten could ask if his confidence is based on the grant alone or if he has aditional information it would be very useful. if possible, ask him what type of aditional information he has.

Bergens Tidende, the main newspaper in Bergen and biggest newspaper in Vestlandet, seems to be quite sure Bond25 will be filmed in the region.

I am sure he cannot divulge his sources but his sources are not the internet. I know that's not very helpful but regardless we will see when the first photos come out from filming.... :007)

It was said the PTS is filming there.

    Said by whom?

How large do we think the total filming budget of Bond25 will be?

Do we know how much earlier PTS' have cost? What did …. say, the Austria scenes in SPECTRE cost?

The original Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet story
    https://www.dagbladet.no/kultur/hollywood-snuser-pa-vestlandet-med-ny-og-enorm-james-bond-derfor-vraker-de-trolig-norge/68763567
from October 2017, and which refers to locations, says Bond25's budget is 2 billion Norwegian Kroner, which is $234 million.

I have been surprised there hasn't been more discussion of this factoid buried in the Dagbladet story.

I still can't access Morten's website. Has anyone seen his story based on these alleged interviews or are people commenting only on the Instagram post?

I'm not sure a more than two years old article from Dagbladet is the best source for the size of Bond25's budget.

Torgeirtrap, MI6Community's resident Norwegian, has found this piece of info: Grants given under the incentive scheme may be combined with grants from regional funds in Norway and development and marketing grants from The Norwegian Film Institute.

I think it can as the film's total budget is bound to be a piece of information required for the grant application. $234 million sounds about right to me for a big budget Hollywood action film and reflects past claims for DC Bond film budgets.

Something else for Morten to investigate.

I don't watch that kind of movies, but Transformers: The Last Knight has scenes from Trolltunga, the Atlantic Sea Road (Atlanterhavsveien) and Preikestolen (where the final fight in IM: Fallout was filmed). The most iconic locations in Norway are being "used up" before Bond gets there. But there are lots of less obvious, but still spectacular locations left.

When can we expect to know the title? Are we maybe only weeks away from knowing that now?
  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 22,344MI6 Agent
I was thinking about the same thing. I don't think there's even been rumours about the title yet, just suggestions. With the exeption of Tuppence Middleton the same thing can be said about about the unknown Bond girl characters. Sometimes I wish EON's security was a little more lax.

Yes, they certainly have kept the lid on this one really well!

They have! I actually find the story about Cádiz standing in for Tunisia believable. I don't like the "somewhere standing in for somewhere else" solution, but I won't be surprised if that one is true.

It's not so much security, but its marketing. Sometimes it leaves a little to be desired.

I've written before that the right answer to MI:Fallout is not to copy it, but to show what's typical Bond. Skiing, womanizing, gambling, raids on the villan's lair, fine wine and food, Bond as a cold killer etc.
Here comes another one I just saw in the other place: Bond should get laid at the end of Bond25.
The only thing on this list Ethan Hunt is likely to do is skiing. But if you ask people what action hero they can picture skiing, most will think of James Bond.

For all you Rami Malek hopefuls out there, he won best actor at the Screen Actor Guild awards.
    https://screenrant.com/screen-actors-guild-award-winners-2019/

It may mean nothing, but awards can't hurt his chances of getting some role or other in Bond 25.

Personally, I see him in an LTK Dario like role.

But the standing in for somewhere else has always been a feature of Bond films, even with all their globe trotting.

Here is the Archivo 007 story about Cadiz. How they know where Greg Wilson has been is anyone's guess.
    https://www.archivo007.com/index.php/noticias/bond-25/2824-cadiz

I can't find any other story about this anywhere. And Archivo 007 doesn't appear to have any sort of track record with Bond25 scoops, so color me sceptical.

However, it would help to explain the choice of Cardona for the alleged Heineken advert.

I got it from a member in MI6community who said in a post he has a friend who works with Greg Wilson. That story was posted on the January 23. and Archivo 007 posted it the next day. I'd say the MI6Community member's friend (if he exists) is the likely origional source. The Other Place seem to look at the memeber who posted the story as believable, so he isn't the type who just enjoys aup rumours for attention.
Here is the first post from "Peter" on Cádiz, post 4,353. Since this is MI6Community, there are many posts on the story.

It's interesting the guy posting is not anonymous, his name is Peter Sheldrake and he gives an email address for bcdfilms.com, which turns out to be a cheap one webpage website advert for some film called, A matter of time. There is no IMDB Peter Sheldrake.

OK. Maybe he does know someone who knows Gregg Wilson. Time will tell. Interesting about a big no to Canada, especially as Sheldrake lives in Toronto. Makes Norway seem more likely.

    Only 35-days to go!

From what I'm reading, the Web chatter regarding Norway is making it pretty nailed on to be a location, which I find quite exciting, shooting is due to start in a little over a month, surely some official announcements will be made very soon?
It was either that.....or the priesthood

Peter's a good guy and his source is indeed 'in the know'. He is one of the few members I pay attention to in that thread.
Always have an escape plan. Mine is watching James Bond films.

He writes more about his relationship with Gregg Wilson in post 4.353:

"As I just explained to some guys on this site, when I'm chatting to this guy (and I saw pics of him with Gregg on the set of SP), I have my geek on. Over fifteen minutes, this is how our conversation went re: Bond:

I started off asking how Gregg and the baby were. This led into location coz he tells me Gregg has been leading this charge. Which led to me asking about Norway and Canada. Which he arbitrarily started talking about a new Bond actor IF this is indeed DC's last one. I asked him what he knew about this being DC's last one, or is he coming back. he swears he doesn't know, but wouldn't be surprised if he did one more. Which led to a discussion about a "list" of candidates. Which led to discussions about Boyle, Barbara and "The Firing". Which led to the first time he met Barbara formally (at Gregg's wedding a few years ago), and what kind of person she is (warms, gracious and lovely).

P.S. I kicked myself about not asking about Malek "

NB: Norway is very much more likely than Canada, since EON applied for a grant to film "B25" here in late November and was granted the highest sum The Norwegian Film Institute has ever given to a foreign production. EON will probably spend about 20 million USD filming Bond25 in Norway.

There's imdb for Peter Sheldrick ;)

And, yes, you can shoot in Norway AND in Cádiz, Spain, for the same film (the Cardona part is not related, that was a Heineken ad).

    Thanks. I completely agree.

That's great. I suspect we know of two locations now: Norway and probably Cádiz. My prediction is we'll get Cádiz as Tunisia, a location somewhere in Vestlandet in Norway and 1-2 more locations outside of the UK.

I'd say two more locations, at least. If it's likes Casino, a lot more locations. I'm excluding London from these lists as it's obvious.

CR had, Prague (I assume the toilet where he makes his first kill for 00-status is also in Prague), Uganda, Madagascar, Bahamas, Miami, Montenegro, and Venice. Seven.

Quantum had, Italy, Haiti, Austria, Bolivia, Russia. Five.

Skyfall, Turkey, Bond's beach hideaway, Shanghai, Macao, mystery island, Scotland (Skyfall). Six.

Spectre, Mexico, Italy, Austria (Altaussee & Hoffler clinic), Morocco (Tangier)/North Africa. Four.

While Europe dominates, there usually are also more distant locations, whether that is Africa, the Americas, the Far East or Asia.

If North Africa (Cadiz) and Norway are definite Bond25 locations, there could still be locations in Asia or the Americas that we've yet to learn about.
  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 22,344MI6 Agent
I wouldn't call Cádiz definate, just a belivable rumour. Not even Norway is 100% certain yet, perhaps 95%.
You're righ about the number of locations. We can probably expect about five locations in addition to London. Many are hoping for Japan and the Garden of Death storyline. We have an exiting February in front of us.
