Most of what you suggest is possible. Finding very scenographic landscapes with few or no tourists isn't that hard. One fjord may get a hundred thousand visitors in a summer while another fjord that's just as visually interesting hardly gets any visitors because there is no cruise ship harbour.
Why are we just assuming that’s the only play in Norway they plan to film?
Mostly because of the money. Based on the grant we think the production will spend about twenty million dollars here. An experienced member of the film comunity in Norway estimated that buys you about seven to ten minutes in a large onternational production here.
It's of course possible the shots from Langvann will only be a few seconds of establisment shots, then a couple of minutes of drama at the end, the rest is done in a studio. That would leave five minutes or so from another location. I doubt it, though.
It was a medical relay unit acting in conjunction with his gps locator. An encryptor converts information into code. Very different things.
The prop was call a TAGUS unit based upon a real thing.
Thanks for the info, mate -{ I always thought it was unusual to call it an 'encryptor' for the reasons you state, but I was just going by what EON label it at exhibits. Guess they screwed up and kept putting the display card there instead of with Herr Mendell's encryptor case?
Always have an escape plan. Mine is watching James Bond films.
Could likely be a scheduling conflict, she is in pre-production on two other films.
That’s disappointing news. I’m convinced that Ms. Nyong’o would have been a great Bond Girl! This brings to mind the casino scene in The Black Panther.

I liked that scene because it was so obviously influenced by Skyfall’s casino scene. After years of Bond copying other tent poles, it was nice to see one blatantly copying Bond again! And an Oscar nominee to boot.

As was the White Widow auction fight in MI Fallout!
I think the reality is there just isn't that much originality in mainstream action oriented films these days (the art house "action films that the critics love, get away with copying classics because they are "homages" 8-) . With the recent MI films, the lack of originality gets obscured by all the hoopla generated by Cruise doing his own stunts and of course the big stunt and action pieces being done so well. Basically, anymore it just comes down to the execution. For example, the film, Den of Thieves was pretty much a reimagination of Heat with a bit of The Usual Suspects and the Inside Man thrown in. But IMO, it was well cast, and a well crafted piece of crime/heist/action genre of film making. Not a classic but very entertaining known the less. With Bond it can get even trickier because you're dealing with an iconic cinematic cultural icon that has been around since 1962 (not counting the old TV version of CS from the 50's) and in literary form since the mid 50's. Which brings me to Bond 25.
I started re-watching the first season of True Detective and I am hoping that Fukunaga can bring his great sense of foreboding, tension and suspense (and some dark humor) that he brought to that first season to Bond 25. Season 3 of True Detective is very good but just did not have that palpable air of danger that season one had and I would attribute that to Fukunaga. That being said, my hope is that Bond 25 is very much a Bond film, with some classic Bond elements but a much needed injection of tension and suspense....more of an action/ thriller than just another action adventure.

Anyone think DC will do a 6th bond film in 2022 for the 60th anniversary?
Definitely not.
Do we think EON will do anything to mark the 60th? It makes sense to release Bond 26 but I find it unlkely they could get a film out in two years, with a new actor and distributor.

The way things are going we'd be lucky to get Bond 26 by the 65th anniversary.

Not really thinking much about Bond 26....just hoping that Bond 25, after all the drama (some real and some not so much) but no doubt a difficult gestation is worth the wait. IMO, I can't see Craig doing another. He'll be around 55 by the time Bond 26 rolls around and I would also doubt he'd be willing to saddle back up even if EON could get it together to do Bond 26 for the 60th. Again, all my attention is pretty much focused on Bond 25. After Bond 25 is released and has its run, then I'll start looking toward the future.
Sadly, I don't really consider Bond an active franchise anymore. Yes, they're making one now, but only after sitting on their hands for three years. In the late '90s, it really felt like a series was happening.

Look, I get as frustrated with the dormant periods as anyone else ... but they’re making a movie currently! How exactly do you define “active” franchise? ) ) )

What I mean is: it's not the classic Bond gadget, like something concealed in something innocuous.
"her team is now telling me it won’t work out with her".

With the Halo sequence and the remote control car it owes a lot to TND.
-Casino Royale, Ian Fleming
Good point.
Nice to see you back in these parts old chap.
I'd say...
1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby
