    Very cool!
It looks like they might even be doing a few pre-filming running-though/positioning of scenes at the location, with smoke being sprayed around cars and rescue divers dressed in full kit (assuming that means people are in the water?).
Things are really starting to happen production wise now—my excitement is soaring :D

It's time i asked: How do you make that …. spoiler thing, wise Master?

You just need to put "spoiler" between square brackets at the start of the text you want to cover and then "/spoiler" between square brackets after it :)

    Thanks :)

Any chance of video from the event?

I’d not heard about this event - was it open to the general public? Would love to have gone...

It was an event for that film school they have opened.

It is odd they wouldn't want to talk about Bond25, you'd at least think they would talk it up and say how the script is now fantastic and 'how all the money is going up on the screen'. Weird.

An interesting article on the Daily Mail website about why Boyle parted ways and what he wanted to do.

    For me, the interesting bit is;

Left guessing? Isn't that the end of Fleming's From Russia With Love novel, when Bond is stabbed by Klebb's poisoned toe blade?

A much better ending than actually killing Bond.

The helmet and smoke implies the cars will be on camera, I think. Is that a floatation device the driver is wearing?
    Can anyone identify the cars?

I acknowledged that already. By 'active', I mean films coming out at regular intervals, like in the '60s, '70s, '80s and (after a fashion) '90s. Back then, we were never far from another film, and the last one would be relatively fresh in people's minds. Conversely, two films in a decade doesn't sound that active to me.

A 2 year old Land Rover Discovery and a Tesla Model S. If you look at the video there are a number of people wearing a similar vest and helmet, so I wouldn't assume a driver. They appear more likely to be some kind of water rescue in case someone goes through the ice.

Fleming intended to kill off Bond in FRWL. It was only after it was a big hit that he brought Bond back.

FRWL is the only Bond novel to conclude with "The End."

No matter what Fleming's intentions were, the words on the last page of From Russia with Love leave Bond's fate ambiguous. Fleming never told us that Bond was dead in the book. It's the kind of thing that happens frequently in comic books.

Hate to say it, but that echos how I feel.
It feels more and more like the series is finally dwindling down. After the 6 year gap the intention was certainly to put Bond back on the map and return the series to it's regular and expected two year rendezvous with movie audiences.

Since the reboot longer gaps have become such a normal expectation it seems there's no point in even bothering to schedule the next film's release date until well after the current film has all been but forgotten. During he Brosnan era by the time the latest film was in theaters the next film's release date was already set.
Today it's whenever they get around to making one. Same can be said for the DIE HARD franchise or the INDIANA JONES franchise.

That's why I find the "who will replace Craig" rumors and speculation to be completely irrelevant and a joke.

Right. When GE came out, many wondered if Bond was already over, because it had been so long since the previous film. Nowadays, such a gap is standard and goes without comment. A very different picture from the book-every-year, film-every-other-year model of the '90s.

Now I think of it, the Bourne films were meant to be over with The Bourne Ultimatum, but they still delivered another two in nine years, just as Bond has - yet it's Bond that is supposed to be the going concern.

I have been trying to get my Dad to join this site. No luck. So I grilled him about Bond 25 and I wanted to pass on his (very succinct) opinions.

Me: Dad they are bring a Bond girl back.
    Dad: Stupid.
Me:Dad what do you think of DC?
    Dad:Not Connery.
Me: what do you think of the prospects of Bond 25?
    Dad: Low.
2 minutes later out of the blue.
    Dad:Bond 25... stupid.

(Just as a side note a later conversation.)
Me: what did you think of CR?
    Dad: one long card game.

I got the highlighting to work on my phone. I highlighted the work "spoiler" and moved the cursor to show the hidden words.

I suppose when Bond is eventually recast Eon could revert to at leaset trying to get the first three films of the new actor's tenure out on a 2-3 year basis. But somehow I have this hunch whatever happens post Craig, the films may end up being just a one off.
My hope is B25 is so groundbreaking and amazing that Universal and MGM give Eon that extra push to make the films a more regular event.

Thinking about the casts of other DC Bond films, we have a limited knowledge about the potential range of cast members for Bond25. So far, we only have, Bond, Madeleine, the main villain, the Scooby gang, a new MI6 (female?) agent, a Camille-like accomplice (previously known as the mysterious woman?), a CIA agent, and (see spoiler block)
a young girl who is either a young Madeleine or her daughter

And there must be a henchman/woman akin to Patrice or Hinx we have yet to learn about.

Compare that with the Casino Royale cast. It has, a corrupt Prague MI6 chief, a bomber (Mollaka) Bond chases, M, Bond, Solange (mysterious woman?), Dimitrios (villain), Vesper, Mathis (accomplice?), Leiter, (CIA agent), Le Chiffre as the main villain, a female villain/Le Chiffre's girlfriend (Valenka), a minor villain in the African warlord Obanno, another minor villain in Mr White, the banker Mendel, and a sort of Scooby gang in Villiers and the other MI6 staff seen briefly.

And compare that with the Quantum cast, it has, Bond, M, Tanner, a corrupt MI6 double agent (Mitchell), a foreign general (Medrano), a villain (Greene), his henchmen (Elvis), another villain in Mr White, Mathis (accomplice), Camille (mysterious woman?), Strawberry Fields (young female MI6 agent?), Leiter, and CIA agent Beam.

The Skyfall cast has, Bond, the Scooby gang fully formed, the villain Silva, Severine (mysterious woman?), henchmen with Patrice, MI6 agent(s) (Ronson/Eve), and Kincade (accomplice?).

Spectre has, Bond, the Scooby gang, Mrs Sciarra (mysterious woman?), Madeleine, Estrella (accomplice?), a villain in Oberhauser/Blofeld, henchman with Hinx, minor villains in Mr Sciarra and Mr White, and the corrupt MI5/6 chief, C.

There seems to be about 11, on average, main cast and directly supporting cast, such as Mendel or Strawberry Fields, where they are necessary to the plot, but we see little of them, in DC's films. So far, for Bond25, we only have 'confirmation' of, the Scooby gang (but no Tanner), Bond, Madeleine, the villain and a CIA agent - Seven people. Four or more cast members to go!

Was the actor José Fernandez confirmed to play a henchman? I remember reading that somewhere prior to it appearing on IMDB.

Was the actor José Fernandez confirmed to play a henchman? I remember reading that somewhere prior to it appearing on IMDB.

I can only find foreign language news reports referencing Fernandez from 18 February. Some of those reports also say Rory Kinnear is in Bond25 and yet we have had total silence from the actor and no comment about the Tanner character from anyone else.
    http://www.beyazperde.com/haberler/filmler/haberler-87960/

I think Fernandez's IMDB entry is a bit of mischief.

I was thinking about those earlier casting calls for Finnish people and Russians, I wonder if (again comparing with previous DC films' casts) the, Russian villains equal Casino's African warlord Steven Obanno and henchman, and the Finnish actors equal Quantum's Bolivian supporting cast?

    So, Bond25's cast could be something like;

    Bond DC
    M Ralph Fiennes
    Moneypenny Naomi Harris
    Q Ben Whishaw
    Madeleine Lea Seydoux
    CIA agent Billy Magnussen
    Villain Rami Malek
    Henchman ?
    Female MI6 agent ?
    Accomplice ?
    Mysterious woman ?
    Russian villain ?
    Russian henchman ?
    Finnish cab driver ?
    Finnish hotel receptionist ?

There was also that Maori henchman casting call from late last year, which may have changed when Boyle left.

Fox News in actual journalism shock with this story pointing out the contradictory nature of the recent, why Boyle quit, stories.
    https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/killing-off-james-bond-was-it-director-danny-boyles-idea

I can only imagine the writer is a big Bond fan and is as sick of the merry-go-round journalism that bedevils Bond, and a lot of entertainment 'news' these days, as people here are.

Changing topic, I Google news searched for Rory Kinnear comments and nothing has been heard of the actor since a 20 December 2018 Esquire story where he says he's not sure if he is in Bond25. The Daily Mail have the exact same story without a byline, so they must have got it from Esquire.
    https://www.esquire.com/uk/latest-news/a25638283/ben-whishaw-doesnt-think-hes-reprising-q-for-bond-25/

If DC's grey hair does indicate a time jump for Bond25 then maybe some characters are not now in the roles we have seen them in before?

29 days to 5 April. Just sayin'.
  • Quentin QuigleyQuentin Quigley Terminal One, Hamburg AirportPosts: 1,201MI6 Agent
Interesting that we haven't heard from Kinnear since. Personal opinion is he's a great actor, and his Tanner doesn't bother me like it does some fans... but the character doesn't need to be in every consecutive film. I do expect him to return though.
