Well that’s some shockingly unexpected news to wake up to... Moving it back a few weeks sure, but moving a film, that’s meant to be out in less than a month, back six months; wow!

Higgins, with which airline should you have been flying?
Most often, you can claim a refund for the “airport taxes” part of your flight ticket. Since these taxes are claimed by the authorities only in case you use your tickets, you can claim a reimbursement easily from the airline. Often, it amounts to 50% of the total bill. Look at the airline website for a form or contact them directly.

British Airways, will contact them tomorrow.
    My hopes are around zero

Ask if you can change the dates. What you booked will affect what is possible, but it is possible to delay your flight by up to 48h just by going on the website, and for further delays you have to speak to them. It's not a lost cause.

"You can change your booking on ba.com up to 48 hours after the original scheduled time of departure. To make changes after then, you must phone us, or visit a travel shop. All changes must be made within 14 days of the original scheduled departure time."

Has any of the major Youtube fan channels sounded off on the delay yet? I get so confused when I don't know what they think.

People have been suggesting that EON will use this delay to revamp the film. How likely is that?

    That seems unlikely to me?

What are you guys finding to spend money on?

Two rooms at Dukes for a week. Amongst other things :))

Is Dukes closing then? If you don’t like it enough to go there without watching a film on one evening, why did you book it?

It’s more than one evening. It a whole week of stuff. Most of which, I’m guessing will be cancelled. That’s why I booked a week.

I wonder if there'll be contractual and sceduling problems involved in getting the cast to do promotion for NTTD October and November?

I hope some brave rogue leaks the film online. Honestly I understand why they delayed, but I feel that due to all the delays this film has already had they should have stuck to their third release date. No integrity. Leak it so i can watch it at home and if you want cash eon i'll buy the blu ray

    oh blinking Beelzebub!
Well at least we can can get back to panicking about this film, it was all looking too good for the last couple of weeks.

You know, I bet its Blofeld's Angels of Death spread this virus!
    It all fits right?
Blofeld didn't want the truth to get out in this upcoming Bondfilm, so he released his biological weapon out here in the real world!

Do you actually think this is something that EON wanted? If they went ahead with the April release date they would take a huge financial hit. As it stands, they are going to still take a hit. I have no interest in watching a pirated copy of NTTD on line.

yes this is the best part of it all. Give them time to find a proper singer to overdub the real vocals onto this demo version we've all been listening to.

They only have themselves to blame. They should have released it in Feb. You could always just delay the China release and still bring it out in the West. You could also delay it by a month or 2, not 7.

unfortunately I think there is a strong chance this is exactly what will happen.
They've been very lucky so far they've kept such a tight lid on the contents of the film, just upthread another poster was complaining how little the trailers have actually revealed beyond the precredits sequence.
But now they've got a completed film ready for release that's going to be sitting in the can for six months, and a whole planet full of resourceful content thieves and all that entitled demand ....
How will EON ever keep their film from getting loose before November?

If they delayed it in one market, they would not make any money in that market when it does release due to piracy. Likewise, the November slot was probably better—looking at a schedule. They'd get a holiday weekend all to themselves (Thanksgiving) and there's a few weeks until the next "big" film (Dune). It hurts, but like I totally get—no one could've foreseen this happening.

And if they'd stuck to the 2 year release pattern like they're supposed to do, we wouldnt be in this mess right not, because 2020 would be an off-year!

On the bright side, if EON get their act together they could find DC's replacement and in November, use the release to announce the new Bond actor and the credits can have 'JAMES BOND WILL RETURN IN,' and the name of Bond26. We can dream...
If they get on it right away, they might even have Bond26 released before Bond25!

When they're delaying the movie because of Corona I think November is the best choise. By then the whole Corona thing will be effectively over and November has been the traditional Bond release month for Bond since the 90's.
unfortunately I'm not so confident. The Future is a dangerous place.
These viruses are happening because the planet is overpopulated, and cheap international travel means they spread across the globe quickly and mutate instead of dying out. We humans are just vessels for their global conquest.

But seriously, modern theatre going is bad enough as it is. I don't want to be surrounded by a couple hundred people coughing their incurable disease on me for three hours plus commercials. So if the virus does run its course in six months the precautionary delay will turn out to have been a good thing.

Now lads, we all need to look on the bright side, no need to get too upset or cancel any travel plans because apparently Universal is moving up the release of Trolls World Tour to fill NTTD's original release date...so who needs Bond right ;)

I am asking myself why has NTTD been delayed REALLY?

Is it a strategic marketing decision based on cinema goers staying away due to COVID-19 fears? Or...
Is the plot line in some way accidentally now related to our current reality with Blofeld/Dr No/Spectre being responsible for the release of a potentially fatal virus?

I will admit I am disappointed in the decision to delay the film's release.

Exactly. Fix the song. It was a cute effort, but now it has time to die. Also, maybe shorten the running time for more screenings, and by all means fix the brother gate angle from the last film.

On one of the other forums there was speculation on Felix's fate in the film. Not sure where that ridiculous idea sprouted from, but if that were the case they I think they should fix that as well. I'd like to see Wright continue into the next Bond's era.

I have confidence Cary has already fixed the gunbarrel so that's one problem potentially solved.

I hate to say "never" but the song is never going to change. You'll just have to live with it. The run time, if they do decide to do some touching up before November it may change by a minute or so, but it won't be anything significant. The brother stuff, who knows...

I doubt the song will change as well. I think the film will sit on the shelf as is until it's released. I'm going to continue avoiding the spoilers...........maybe difficult to resist until November.

As for the delayed release of the movie.....what if its about sensitivity issues? Does anybody really know the plot of NTTD? What if part of Safins plan is to release a world wide sickness to eliminate the weak individuals?

For sure I get why they have delayed it. They want to make cash. It's logical and it makes sense and it will result in a bigger box office yield providing that the virus fades away.

But I still don't think it was the right decision. For me it's a moral issue. If this was the first delay then sure, I could swallow it. But i cannot swallow this. This is the fourth releaae date. EON and everyone involved have led the public on a garden path for over a year. Marketing was in full swing. We were a few weeks away from a premiere. They had sold tickets for it. Morally it was too late to change the date. Just because they can doesn't mean it was the right choice. After 5 years and numerous delays to put another lengthy one on us is shocking. Simply put I just do not think they were in a position to delay again given the circumstances leading up to the April release date.

At least recognise your position and announce a delay with humility and grace and apologise for it. The lack of acknowledgement about how they have acted this time is unacceptable.

Bond has become a joke through this whole experience. Everyone I speak to is mocking the franchise and the film makers and they have seemingly damaged the reliability of their brand. There have have been delays between films before but not like this.

I know i have complained a lot with this film but i am bitterly disappointed with this. I will of course see it. But i will do so without enthusiasm and the excitement that a Bond film deserves from its viewers. And if it turns out to be terrific then I will be very pleased but there will always be the bitter aftertaste of these last couple of years for me.

And in the unlikely event that it leaks online then i'm sorry but it serves them right. You can't always have your cake too
