It's pretty clear that Nolan likes to cast Tom Hardy in his films. But I'll throw this out there: Why didn't Nolan cast Hardy as Batman?
Christian Bale's interpretation of Bruce Wayne ironically was very Bond-like.
I just don't believe there was much truth to the "report" that Nolan wanted a three film deal, Hardy as Bond, etc. As previously indicated, I agree, all just based on the Batman trilogy; much too pat and typical tab/internet fodder. The film business is very fluid, like I've said, things can change quite a bit before everything is put in place.

The Craig-Hardy row had a hint of credibility. I could see Craig not wanting to hand Bond over to someone he disliked after spending the prime of his career in the role. Despite Craig’s professed “I don’t give a f***” attitude about who succeeds him, we all know that’s just bluster. Craig has always taken Bond very seriously.
That said, I’m not sure any of that would cause a rift between Craig and Nolan. I think Craig would be more than happy to have someone of Nolan’s pedigree working on Bond.

Maybe I'm crazy.....but I'm just guessing that Craig returning had nothing to do with Tom Hardy. But you never know.
Here's a thought. If Nolan signs on to direct Bond 25 he can cast Hardy as the villain and Craig and Hardy can really beat
the crap out of each other for a fantastically realistic fight scene . Unfortunately, neither has the skill level to look that good fighting on screen even for real without the aid of a good fight choreorapher and the stunt guys ) -{

Those kind of "stories" are pure speculation...not much different from what we post and discuss on the AJB but (we do it with a bit more knowledge and insight).
I have no idea of what Nolan would do with Bond, especially if Craig was still Bond. It's intriguing to say the least given Nolan's professed love of Bond films and the Bond influences in his films.
Nolan's quotes regarding Bond certainly speak to the idea of starting with a new Bond and a trilogy of films but things change. That being said, given the level of creative genius that a Nolan possesses, it is not out of the realm of possibility that Nolan had some sort of creative epiphany/idea that he believes would allow him to put his stamp on Bond with Craig in a single film (or two filmed back to back). This is all just theorizing on my part....but that's kind of all we have right now. My gut still tells me that EON goes with one of the hot younger directors like Yann Damange or Sean Ellis.
That was a good interview ... lots about how her father and Saltzman got the film rights and started the series, her growing involvement (and specifics on her changing role), her taking over with Goldeneye and the challenge to make Bond relevant again, getting the rights to Casino..., and confirmation her father had always seen that as an origin story, and how she picked Craig ... some real specific details.
It does sound like she has been waiting for Craig to get started on this next film.

I think they've already done a great job of diversifying Bond without changing Bond himself. Particularly the recurring supporting characters like M, moneypenny and Felix. Although I feel it was less about diversity and more just choosing the right person for the job.
Bond will definitely be cast with a person of color at some point but most of us will be dead by the time that happens, so don't get too worked up about it.

I don't think I have it in me to avoid a new Bond movie, but I certainly would not be rushing.

That hardly rules him out. Being Executive Producer of Penny Dreadful didn't rule Mendes out of doing Spectre.
