I think Bond can have a nice suit on under the jump suit, but I agree about the CGI.

Just keep the gun barrel at the beginning and use Bond theme gratuitously and most everyone (even the anti-Craig nostalgia junkies) will be satisfied that they are watching a Bond film.

Being one of those anti-Craig nostalgia junkies, I quite agree. Though I'd prefer the Bond theme to be used judiciously rather than gratuitously.

    As would I. -{

I'd like them to use some modern tech. The jet packs and
Jet powered hover boards look amazing ! and could be
Used to make some interesting action sequences.
With at least one sequence having the Bond theme played
    At full belt {[]

Maybe Bond can land on the roof in a modern state of the art version of "Little Nellie".

All due respect, this is exactly the kind of stuff I think they need to avoid. Little Nellie was iconic because it was unique. It was unlike anything that had been done before. Bond should be trying to innovate with that same spirit, not pay homage to itself. Every time they go self-referential, it falls flat.

This is why it's best that I have nothing to do with writing a Bond script :)) Hopefully Hodge and Boyle have come up with something much more original. -{ I would much prefer a good story with some great action than trying to build a plot around an idea for a great action sequence.

I definitely agree with you there.

I think they should avoid "gadget of the year" vehicle because it rarely feels natural for the story.
What was the name of the vehicles in the ski sequence in TWINE - Parahawks?
Jetpacks worked back in the 60's, but today that sort of thing rarely feels right.

Society is so high tech in general these days and techie gadgets so much more accessible to many that we just don't go ga ga over that kind of stuff in films anymore. I'd much rather see Bond go low tech (it worked well in the final showdown in Skyfall) with a dose of tradecraft. Hopefully they will play to Craigs strengths in 25. Craig looks very convincing in hand to hand fights, handling weaponry in shootouts and goading the bad guys with sarcasm.

This was the thinking with Casino. I saw an interview with DC where he said exactly this. I agree, DC's Bond should have none or use them in a different way, for example, the palm recognition gun that thwarts a henchman who is then attacked by a Komodo dragon.

I think you are right, more tradecraft and inventive use of everyday stuff (loved the use of a rolled up magazine in Bourne) Craig is the best since Lazzer in the fisticuffs department, but even here I'd like less Krav-Maga as it's everywhere and getting dull (have just taken it up myself ) Bond should clearly be 'trained' in unarmed combat but not an expert (less of the blocks laptop, block punch )
Fleming I think describes him as a 'tough and tenacious fighter' who 'knows the basic holds of Judo'

I rememver talking to a soldier about "Bourne" and his fighting tricks. He said it was
basically all bollocks, as in a fight you use your fists. "You wouldn't have time to
roll up an F'ing magazine " I think was his quote :))

All depends on what discipline you are trained in, and what weapon you're opponent has, fists have limited effect against someone with a knife unless you bide your time and wait for the attacker to over balance or strike out in a flailing manner, and in which event you'd move close as possible and use your elbows, hands are quite delicate, a swift elbow to a jaw is better. Similar with someone wielding a baseball bat, no good standing back trying to land a punch, move inside the danger zone and put them away asap with palms to under the jaw or elbows to the head.

I guess Cavill could have an advantage, having a brother
Who's a Royal Marine. He's bound to give him a few tips
On "Tricks" and "Techniques" in fighting ;)

As seen at Farnborough ,the Aston Martin Volante Vision

Yes, that vehicle won't fit in a Bond movie.

Agreed, a lot of what bogged Spectre down was a sense of "been there, done that".

This story says that Centre Point tower in London was being considered for Bond25 with 007 landing on its roof by parachute or helicopter.

If Centre Point is indeed being considered as a location for a roof top landing, and Chris Corbould said "think the Olympics", then this could very well be what he was referring to, and not a scenario involving the Royal family.

We've had parachutes in 2 Craig films now, I think maybe he's referring to something else. .. Maybe the spice girls??

So Bond 25 is going to be James Bond v. Boris and Natasha.

    What about Moose and Squirrel?

Probably right, but it's not a documentary or a realistic tutorial. Real fighting is ugly and messy and probably looks kak on film.

I agree, I much prefer the fighting in John Wick or Kingsman, very stylised but
beautiful to watch. While the violence in Harry Brown, is so believable it's hard
to watch........... then again I'm a big softie :D

Same page I think. The older I get the lower my tolerance of onscreen violence (not a tremendous fan in real life either)

I'm off to watch MI6 tomorrow and bet Ethan Hunt will do
Exactly what I would do in the same situation :D

What did you think? I enjoyed it a whole bunch. Great escapist fun. Still couldn't care two figs about Ethan though but in terms of spectacle it was superb.
