I see someone else has been having a go with a similar idea: I rather like that they've stuck to Barry music which was contemporaneous with NSNA rather than using 60s/70s/90s Bond music - I think it feels a bit more coherent.
That second one is very good - but reminds us that Barry's films, right to the end, had a kind of visual moniker that would keep you company and set the character of the movie while tweaks would adjust the tone to relaxing or menacing. Never Say Never Again had none of that really, so you never felt the film as keeping you company somehow with familiar sounds.
The first clip - the opener - is okay but more obviously Octopussy based, and no need to sequester into that awful theme song when there's the other one that got ditched due to contractual reasons.
I watched this version of the film yesterday and found it enjoyable. The Barry score they've used makes it a slightly more downbeat affair, but it is effectively dangerous and serious in the right places.
This vid is the PTS and opening titles from it: I think the additions they've put in are rather fun.
That's pretty good. My only issue would be that Barry usually offers some restraint. I don't think he would have scored the whole PTS. It needs some silences, most I feel when Bond is infiltrating the lair and then, after the Bond Theme plays over the gunbattle, the fist fight should be in silence. That way when the opening bars of MrKKBB kick in there is a real sense of musical gusto drawing us into the credits. Goodness, I am picky....
