For me the three places I would love to (re)visit would be
1) Venice
2) Gibraltar
3) London
Although I have been lucky to go to each of these places before, even with preparation by getting my list of film locations to find and see, planned route maps ready to navigate myself around, its only when getting there and start to actually look around a place does it then all makes sense of why the locations were picked in the first place.
Every one has unseen distractions, those not shown on screen, each causing delays and timings to go out of the window, because of this I have ended up running out of time and therefore ended up either missing out on going to all planned places or rushing about and not fully appreciated them at that time. So good excuse to go back again.
- Piz Gloria is my number 1
- While there, I would also go to the Goldfinger locations, preferably in a nice sports car.
- Jamaica is up there, despite the bad situation there. I would stay at Goldeneye naturally and drink Blue Mountain coffee all day
- Wouldn't turn down a Bahama's trip either
- The japanese fisherman's village and volcano.
- Bond island is a must see. Still regret not going while I was in Thailand years ago
- Jaipur
- Vietnam
That is about it. From what I saw, I can recommend the following places since it is still pretty much in same shape as when it was filmed:
- Istanbul. Exactly the same as many of the locations and all in walking distance
- Osato's office in Tokyo
- Venice
- Rio
- Amsterdam
- Paris
- Rome
- San Francisco
- New York (some locations, not all)
- Hong Kong
Been to two, the area of Paris where the Taxi Chase in AVTAK was filmed (wouldn't be surprised if others have been as it's right under/ next to Eiffel Tower). And also Lake Como, where Daniel Craig's Casino Royale was set. Although I couldn't quite find the Mansion where the climax with Mr White was filmed.
Another mention, is being right opposite Bond's HQ on the Thames and not realising it until we'd passed by.
Bahamas would do me. Stepping into Thunderball (and having my picture taken) would be nice. I'd even put on my eyepatch dress in rubber. But that's another type of vacation.
My wife said is is a nice idea when I suggested to visit Sölden to see Bond elements. So at next March just after my birthday.
We will flight first to Munich, stay there few days, then hire a car and make an "lovely ride on the countryside" to Austria.
It will be nice to see mountains again after a long time. We were driving all over europe early 2000, and I so look forward our vacation.
My question is: What is the roadcondition at middle of March at that area? At Finland we do use snowtires at that time, and I am well used to drive on "what ever" weather conditions.
I'd love to visit the MI6 set, both classic area and Brosnan area. Other things I'd love to see is the Orient Express, sadly it doesn't go anymore as you guys stated before. My other choice would be GoldenEye in the Fleming days, great idea to think about the typewriter that gave 007 life. Otherwise, I'd go to a casino, especially Casino Royale.
Don't confuse me with the other DutchBondFan, but be sure to follow his YouTube account. You can read my articles on James Bond Nederland: www.jamesbond.nl/author/gosse/
Sölden and 007elements is happening! I have the flight tickets to munich at saturday, hired car to have an lovely drive on the countryside... We are staying somewhere in the middle of nowhere in Austria, high mountains both side of the cottage. Even the weather seems to be nice.
I'm always trying to include a bond stop in our holiday! :v
Here some still in the top 5
- Glen Etive (Scotland)
- Halong bay
- Meteora Monasteries (Greece)
- Furka Pass (Switzerland) (soon! To combine with Locarno below )
- Locarno dam (soon!). Just finishing my piton gun to bring it on site
BTW, I just came back from Bregenz, Rigolleto instead of the Tosca but still really impressive stage.
See an opera there went directly on the "to do list"

Did you see any double-taking pigeons? )
I'm actually editing a story set in Venice and, like Moonraker and Casino Royale, it really makes me want to go there.
