That confirms for me, this chase through Matera, a, it is not only a car chase, but, b, if it ends at this bridge in Gravina, then the coastal filming and other locations may well be for non-PTS/finale scenes elsewhere in the film.
I agree, to have Bond fall from this bridge, is unlikely as they did that with Skyfall. Is this what happens ultimately to the scientist? Is it Magnussen's CIA agent? I am not sure if the bulky appearance is simply from the harness under the stuntman's clothes or if this character is overweight, in which case it can't be Bond.
We know Bond is driving the Vantage during the film as he arrives in Whitehall, London in it, so the DB5 must be at the beginning or the end. I was expecting the Matera pictures to provide answers and instead they have thrown up more questions.
Bond has jumped off (and out of) lots of things. And (this is pure speculation) looking at the sequence of photos in the Sun, it appears Bond/the stunt double is going to be reaching for something as he falls ...
... and then swinging under the bridge on whatever he grabbed (maybe added with CGI? Or during the actual filming of the stunt?).
I'm assuming that his hand position in the 2nd photo and the line attached to his waist to pull him sideways indicates that a sudden change of direction is involved in the stunt and it's not all part of some end of action safety routine.
Anyway, my point is that the Skyfall bridge stunt and this bridge stunt can be very different things. And that doesn't even take into account how the stunt is filmed and edited (one long shot of Bond dropping vs. more dynamic editing). Plus, it could be funny for Bond to have a throw away line before he jumps. "Another bloody bridge".
Maybe it’s both the PTS and the ending... Car chase through Italy in PTS, Madeline dies.. story rolls on.. Bond returns to Italy at the end to pay respects to her grave (buried there as no family left elsewhere etc.), and something happens causing Bond to fall.. links rumours of PTS being filmed there, the rumour of bond visiting the cemetery, and the possibility of ‘is bond dead’ storyline that’s been suggested...
Sounds plausible.
But Bond falling from a bridge, is he dead?! Is he alive..?! Surprised they haven't done that before..
By the way, I'm being told that Ralph Fiennes is in Matera...
Either, we do see a Bond/Madeleine wedding in the PTS and M is a guest, or the Italy filming is not the PTS and M is in some way 'in the field' with Bond in the third act.
So, far, only questions with the Italy filming, I am hoping for some answers in the coming weeks.
I think it’s more about needing to get away from M’s personal involvement in the plot (TWINE, SF, Spectre) as opposed to M showing up on location, which is a pretty well established Bond film trope. When viewed collectively, M has loomed a bit too large in all of Craig’s films, IMO.
Oddly in the Daily Mail story there is a black car on the Gravina bridge, not a Jag or Aston Martin, whose make I can't make out but in other photos there appear to be spare body panels for that car propped up against a wall.
While Sassilive.it's latest story has news of a website to be launched tonight which will have maps identifying where and when filming will take place in Matera. Perhaps their marketing strategy is entirely focused on people's social media? www.infolotusmatera.com
God. I'm sick of M (and the rest of the Groovy Gang) running about being part of the film. It should just be Bond on the mission on his own.
M should just stay in Whitehall hand over the folder, and then watch him having sex (like the old days with Roger).
Like the old days with Roger, when M met up with Bond in Hong Kong, Egypt, Italy and South America?
And before then, with Q in the Bahamas, M and Moneypenny in Japan (or wherever the boat was), or Moneypenny in Amsterdam, or later, M on a bloody 'plane over Gibraltar, or Q in Mexico... etc...
So, the Pinewood filming, as we know it, is all used up. Yet, we know they filmed M office scenes from the Prince Charles visit and we know from scenes 139 to 155 were Bond in London, which amounts to about 10 minutes of screen time. That would need 2 weeks. The Marketto007 info provides the answer.
The stuntmen go to Italy in mid-August but as Marketto007's info says, DC gets there in early September (2 Sept is a Monday), with other cast membes no doubt, and so that gives them an extra two weeks at Pinewood.
We are still left with no apparent interior filming for Norway, despite speculation that the Scottish castle recently seen with Bond25 crew quarters located nearby will be in the film.
It's been reported in a sassilive.it story that DC may only need to be in Matera for a day or so. If DC and other cast members are only needed across all the Italian locations for a few days in total during the early September to, perhaps now late, October (according to MI6-hq.com) final filming schedule, then they can spend the bulk of that 7-8 weeks elsewhere. That would resolve the apparent lack of time for third act related Norway filming both interior, and possibly exterior work. Will DC finally actually go to Norway in late September, early October?
They are filming again this weekend (24th-27th) on Whitehall Court in London.
Speaking with security they are filming inside the hotel setup work continues tomorrow so expect they are actually shooting on Monday.
I got some photos of the pictures that will be on the wall so thinking it may be views from M's office

Absolutely agreed - this all comes down of course to the stature of actor playing M , whether Judi Dench or Ray Fiennes and the need for them to have more screen time, something I’m personally not in favour of...
Japanese proverb say, "Bird never make nest in bare tree".
New pictures from filming in Matera today. Looks like B unit filming with a Swann and Bond stand-ins. The DB5's registration plate seems vintage yet I can't recall it being used perviously?
The PTS of Bond and Swann in the DB5 in Italy takes place right after the ending of SP where they drove off in the DB5. After the song they do a timelapse of 5 years to today.... ?:)

Does the plate we see make it road legal in Italy? And they will CGI in the BMT 216A later?

I don't agree that it is right after the end of SP, but clearly at some point they get married, that has to be a wedding dress. And to complicate any post-titles time jump is scene 15K in Norway which could be a Madeleine flashback.

Mark Higgins doubling for Craig again in the drive sequences. Noting the top half of what Higgins is wearing seems to mirror (minus the tie) the same bridge jump outfit from earlier in the week.
DB5 scenes maybe on the run up to the bridge jump scene or post jump?.. seems quite likely to me based on the similarities in outfits in both images?... just my thoughts -{
A MASSIVE thank you to Someone for posting details above. I have been in Matera for 2 days and managed to watch the filming this morning including the Aston Martin sequence and I even sneaked around then back to speak with some of the crew and get a close up view of the cars etc. Highlight of my Puglia trip!!!

Too subtle for this board, mate.

The latest MI6-hq.com story claims the Italy filming will continue into late October.

Yeah. No history whatsoever.

The info at the moment is basically no different to the official local government road closure announcement, but there are some informative maps.

Was a villain ever so successfully secretive?
