Netflix Recommendations

Good evening everyone. I am currently taking part in a clinical trial which involves laying in bed for three days while copious amounts of blood are taken. As there is very little else to do I was wondering if you fine people could recommend something on Netflix for me to watch or maybe an interesting website/blog to read?

TV series:
- Nobel
- Lillehammer
- The heavy water war
- Norsemen

Thanks I will have a look at some of them. I need to broaden my foreign film and television tastes, so this will be a great start.

I've rewatched the original 3 series of Star Trek, a Blade Runner type series
called Altered Carbon. A period Murder mystery The Alienist. A long with
loads of Top Gear.

I have never seen an episode of Star Trek am I missing out? I've watched The Alienist, what did you think of it?

The Alienist, I enjoyed, although I did think there was a
Bit of "padding" in certain episodes, the series could have
Easily lost a couple of episodes in running time and told the

I enjoyed Star Trek, I was a kid when I first watched it, so didn't
Take everything in. So it was enjoyable to revisit it as an adult.

By definition, yes, you are missing out.
Aside from being some quality television episodes, Star Trek is so fundamental to our culture, to all teevee that came after it, to the way normal folks talk about things, and supposedly to the development of technology, I am surprised somebody can function in the modern world without being literate in Star Trek! It should be part of the required grade school curriculum, one should not be able to graduate and attempt to function in society without knowing their basic Star Trek. It is certainly more relevant than Shakespeare (sorry Barbel)

It is specifically the original three seasons from the 1960s with Kirk and Spock that are essential.
The many movies and continuation series less so, one should be literate in the original teevee series first.
If you like the original series, then see how they updated it to post-Star Wars standards of special effects with the Kirk/Spock films.
Then if you liked those, see how they update the concept to a new cast 100 years in the future, with a whole new set of philosophical issues to debate with the Next Generation, followed by its various spin-offs.
There's a lot of Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Enterprise to slog through, and they're not all masterpieces, so that's another reason to start with the Original Series, which can be cruised through in a couple of weeks.

And leave the latest J.J. Abrams remake films to last, if at all. One can happily miss out on those.
