Secret Cinema, the brilliant and immersive cinema experience, today posted the following cryptic message on its Instagram page:

That's an anagram for Universal Exports, and the co-ordinates are for Prague. Could it be that they're planning to show Casino Royale?

    SECRET CINEMA PRESENTS CASINO ROYALE

    • Secret Cinema will reveal the world of James Bond with Secret Cinema Presents Casino Royale opening May 2019 at a secret London location
    • Secret Cinema Presents Casino Royale will see civilians recruited for ‘Operation Wild Card’

    EMBARGOED UNTIL 10:10 GMT FRIDAY 30TH NOVEMBER

    PRESS RELEASE

    November 30th 2018: Secret Cinema will create a spectacular experience, around James Bond - one of the most successful British film franchises ever. For the very first time Secret Cinema will present the critically-acclaimed film Casino Royale (2006) directed by Martin Campbell and starring Daniel Craig as James Bond. Opening on 29th May 2019 and running into the summer, a secret London location will be transformed into the glamorous and action-packed world of the iconic British spy. Blurring the lines between fiction and reality, the experience will bring-to-life awe-inspiring scenes and locations.

    Tickets will go on sale at 12:00 (GMT) on 6th December 2018. The experience will run between Wednesday - Sunday each week, with tickets priced between £40 - £175 plus booking fees.

    Secret Cinema Presents Casino Royale will see audience members recruited as part of ‘Operation Wild Card’. New recruits will join either Q Branch or M Branch. Prior to their mission, they will receive an alias, dress code and training suggestions to help them prepare for a night of high stakes, sophistication and deception. Do you have what it takes?

    Founded by Fabien Riggall, Secret Cinema has thrilled audiences for over a decade with its ground-breaking event format that combines film, music, art, and theatre through the prism of iconic and beloved films. This production will be the largest and most ambitious indoor event that Secret Cinema has ever produced, with an audience of 1,500 taking part in the show each night.

    Secret Cinema Presents Casino Royale will celebrate two British cultural institutions collaborating for the very first time, delivering a completely unique, immersive film experience that promises to be one of the highlights of the arts calendar during 2019.

    Angus Jackson, Creative Director of Secret Cinema presents Casino Royale said: “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to bring-to-life such an iconic film franchise and character. Casino Royale is a rich territory for us to explore from the characters to the plot and locations. Our audience will be given the opportunity to understand what it takes to embody modern espionage - bringing them closer to the Bond experience than ever before.”
    Martin Campbell, Director of Casino Royale said: “I'm excited that Casino Royale is going to be brought to life by Secret Cinema. I hear it's a wonderful immersive experience, and judging by its past reactions, it's going to present the film in a way that it's never been seen before. I can't wait!”

    Secret Cinema Presents Casino Royale tickets will go on sale at 12:00 (GMT) on 6th December 2018. Prices start at £40 + booking fee with VIP packages from £125 + booking fee also available.

    Having attended several of these Secret Cinema events, including The Empire Strikes Back, Blade Runner, 28 Days Later and others, they will recreate interior locations and scenes with a high degree of veracity, so it’s as though you’re actually taking part in the film’s events. I’d expect scenes in M’s apartment, The One & Only Ocean Club, the Miami airport interior, for sure the Casino and even possibly the climax in the floating house in Venice. Guests will wear appropriate clothing inspired by the film (Mantis, I expect to see some early Bond Experience reports if you can make it over here!).

    Can’t wait!

    Construction set, airport set, sinking Venice set, Bahamas.... :007)

    I've been to loads of these also but I'm not altogether certain this one will work. The main reason for that is because James Bond operates in the world as we know it. Other SC events like Star Wars, back to the future, blade runner all have very creatable "worlds". All this one immediately offers is an Aston Martin parked somewhere and a large Casino set. And just for the uninitiated SC goers - the one character you're NOT supposed to go as is ... James Bond. So dispel any of those ideas about wearing your Barbour skyfall jacket or Menlo leather jacket. You'll just be required to wear a smart suit in all likelihood (bond ones would work there of course).

    They'll need to get very creative on this one - much more than their other "large" events. And at £125 for a VIP ticket they really really need to !

    For The Empire Strikes Back, they started with an unnamed starship (presumably the ship on which Princess Leia records a hologram message into R2D2), followed by Tattooine, then Mos Eisley cantina - both the iconic bar set, and the tables where Han Solo meets Greedo, plus the band), then onto the Death Star. It was a pretty vast affair spread across several floors in one building. So I can’t see any reason why they couldn’t meet the challenges of staging Casino Royale.

    And with prices starting at £40 per ticket you can’t go wrong. -{

    Btw - I dressed as Han Solo for Star Wars and Rick Deckard for Blade Runner - so I shall be dressed as 007 regardless of the dress code :007)

    Yeah that actually kind of ruins it for others and disrespectful of what they are trying to do. There's always that geek-guy who wants to be centre stage "I am Solo" type of stuff. You're not the star of this, you're supposed to blend into the background and provide the ambience.

    :)) :)) :)) Judging by the brilliant comments I got, not everyone feels the way you do -{ You've spurred me on CRB, I may even wear my jet-pack to Casino Royale, I have an aversion to blending into the background :)) :)) :))

    CRB, not sure why the personal attacks? Let's try and keep it civil please and discuss the Secret Cinema event. Happy to take it to mods if that's not an option.

    Casino Royale has some iconic set pieces which I'm keen to see what they will do with, such as the Venice sinking house, which could be spectacular. Bearing in mind how successfully they've recreated other contemporary film settings, such as 28 Days Later, I don't think they'll have a problem coming up with some striking and creative sets. -{

    I’m confident they will make a good show of it. I have only been to the Blade Runner one and even though I wasn't a huge fan of the film, it was amazing and completely changed my opinion of it.

    As for the sets etc. By the look of it there will be some kind of Madagascar one which i think will work well. Add to that the airport, Bahamas, a casino and I think there is plenty they could use. My wife went to the Moulin Rouge one which isn’t sci-fi and said that was great.

    Never been to one but sounds like a bit of good ole fashioned fun - could be a good opportunity to meet a few AJBers to boot.

    Cheers :007)

    I'm sure it will be a fun night out, I wouldn't be paying for it myself if not. But don't forget you're there to watch a film with a bit of fun, it's not a film set and as long as people don't get hopes too high it will be fine. I always thought if they ever did Bond that OHMSS would have been a better choice - it would be easier to theme that film.

    I’m sure people will get out of it what they put in - and that’s totally up to the individual.
    I wonder why you are so negative about it?

    And please lay off the personal attacks - it does you no credit.

    Hopefully I won't be there on the night you are then as that sort of stuff really does ruin the idea, like I was saying.

    Not even in the slightest. I deleted them as a debate doesn't seem to be a well balanced thing on this board - it's more "our way or no way"

    But more to the point, I am curious why you are trying to resurrect this this morning ?

    And just in case you're wondering I only wrote that in response to the VISCOUS PERSONAL ATTACK on my state of my mental wellbeing. Really scandalous, I'm so offended, I may have to report it to the Mods and the Police as a hate crime.

    So much for being ‘done with this’ 8-)

    Your clock is wrong too...I posted last night -{

    I asked you stop - after being asked to stop by the person you attacked...nothing more...not my fault you went all ‘diva’ 8-)

    If you have anything else to say then PM me please...let’s leave this thread to the people that actually want to discuss the event -{

    Saturday 7th Sept for me.

    Please NO SPOILERS from anybody who attends an earlier date! :D

    For those that haven't been to Secret Cinema before you are in for a real treat! But do be aware that they work really hard to keep everything 'secret' for good reason. So they won't let you take pictures / videos etc whilst you are there - and they actively police that policy. I was at the recent Blade Runner SC and took my phone out of it's (provided) ziplock bag to store a number about 2 hours after the film had finished (we were still drinking/enjoying the 'nightclub') - and was still pounced on by a security ninja and told to put it away. Was actually very impressed with their dedication to keeping it all in your mind...

    It does mean that the event retains that element of surprise / awe right down to the very last screening.

    Can't wait - it is going to be amazing!
    Yes. Considerably.

    I recall there being photo ops within the ESB environment but maybe they've changed the rules since.

    I also recall other Secret Cinemas not running anywhere near as long.
