If it doesn't require having the headlights on, other information can be shown on the windscreen (radar, facial recognition etc.) and perhaps directional microphones to help with the surveilance, it will be worthy of Q Branch.
Bond shouldn't drive electric because he wants to become an eco-warrior, he should do it becase of the performance of the electric Aston Martin. If he uses the silent motor to run surveilance it's nice bonus. Comparing Bond driving electric car to drinking non-alcoholic drinks isn't a good one, in my opinion. Bond is known as a heavy drinker, he's known for it. It's a part of his persona that shouldn't change. Few, if anyone, would describe Bond persona as someone who insists on emiting CO2. Bond uses the best and most stylish cars, he doesn't care much if they emit CO2 or not.

I have to agree. If the horsepower and torque is there, I have no problem with Bond driving electric. Despite Bond's many callback to the past, he has always been one step ahead with technology. Non-alcoholic wine doesn't do the same thing that the real stuff would. A high-performance electric car can achieve the same goals as a petrol car.
Well it's to be hoped he doesn't have to tail someone like goldfinger, or make a quick dash to Rome like in Spectre, with a range of around 300—350 miles and a 7 hour charge time he will need a bit more time for his missions. On the plus side next time he decides to make a phone call during a high speed chase it will be much quieter.
For me, it’s not all about horsepower and torque. There’s more at play. There’s just something visceral about the growl of a real engine and an electric car just can’t do that. A quartz Omega is actually more accurate than an Omega master co-axial. A Walther PPS is a superior concealed carry weapon compared to a Walther PPK. It’s not just about “achieving the same goals.” Some things can’t be quantified.
The main drawbacks to electric cars right now are the range and the charging time (and running over people while driving through carparks because they can't hear you coming). Both will hopefully get better, although mobile phone and laptop manufacturers haven't put much effort into improving battery life, so we'll see. Anything's possible in a Bond film, so we might see Bond driving an electric car with a 1,000 mile range, reach speeds of 200 mph, and which can fully re-charge in 30 seconds from a memory stick. As others have said, I'd still miss the roar of the engine though. And no, I don't want a fake engine sound like the fake camera-sound that some digital cameras and mobile phone cameras have now.
Still not my pick for Bond, but he could obviously do worse.
I really like the look of it—glad they didn't go with the DB11, Vantage or DBS Superleggera style headlights and went with a bit of a throwback style instead. I actually wouldn't mind it featuring in B25. It could make for a cool scene with Bond putting it in electric mode and sneaking around somewhere.

I don’t think it has any mode other than electric. According to the article it just has a battery. No engine.

It has an electric motor. A car with a battery and no engine wouldn't move at all.

A motor is not an engine. An engine runs on combustion.

Wikipedia: "An engine or motor is a machine designed to convert one form of energy into mechanical energy.[1][2] Heat engines, like the internal combustion engine, burn a fuel to create heat which is then used to do work. Electric motors convert electrical energy into mechanical motion" etc.
But of course this isn't important. You said the car is all-electric and and not a hybrid, and that's correct.

You’re right, what I said was not technically correct. Language is a funny thing. -{

It'll be fine.

I thought they’d canned the Rapide: odd to see it back wearing the Superleggra’s face.
