Anthony, Don, Tyler and Martin review the 1964 classic Goldfinger. Is it really the Bond film that many consider to be the golden standard? How does it hold up after all these years? Tune in to find out if it still has that Midas touch!
You better watch out for the following:
- Dom Perignon '53 above a temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit.

After a short summer break, we are back with another podcast. This time we take a different approach and discuss the 2015 movie The Man From UNCLE. Next month we return to the Bond franchise when we discuss The Living Daylights.
I have just finished the podcast.
Personally not convinced by other than bond movie detailed reviews...
I think that we all saw every bond so many times but such film only once(maybe). Therefore it is kind of hard to follow or even remember /visualize the scene you referred to.
Moreover even if I like other spy-movies, I m a fan of Bond and not especially of every movie of this genre.
Therefore, im not convinced... Even if, once again, it's a pleasure to hear your team interaction!
An idea : instead of a detailed review of each spy movie, maybe try a podcast grouping the most relevant of them... And facing them...
Anyway, really happy to have you back
Cheers
François
Thank you for your feedback! It was something that we wanted to try out but aren't sure if it will be a one time thing or not. It was a lot more difficult to do this one (The Man From Uncle) because instead of being able to rely on the 100+ times you have seen a movie, all the background information you've gathered over the years, etc. etc. you just have to discuss a movie that I've only seen twice.... It was fun to do, but it does show why we picked the Bond movies
Today our The Living Daylights movie review was released. As always, available on all the usual podcast apps.
The last few weeks we've released 4 new podcasts. First off, our The Living Daylights movie review. After that, our three part series where Don and I take a thorough look at Ian Fleming's second novel, Live And Let Die.
I've just listened to your review of TLD and I enjoyed it. Just a couple of comments:
- While we see Kara aiming the rifle in the sniper scene, we don't see exactly what she's aiming at. I think she was told by Koskov to keep watch and shoot if she sees anyone trying to stop him, so it's only natural to be aiming near him.
- Kara actually holds the buttstock of the rifle to her right shoulder. I've done very little shooting with a bolt-action rifle, but to me her handling of the gun looks all right.
Grab your lighter, cufflink, cigarette case and pen because it is time put your golden gun together! In our tenth James Bond film review, we take on Roger Moore’s The Man With The Golden Gun.
We follow 007 as he travels to Beirut, Hong Kong, Macau and Thailand to catch up with the world’s most dangerous assassin. Along the way Bond fights some random goons in a nightclub, sumo wrestlers in a beautiful garden and dodges a few empty bottles thrown by the tiniest henchman on a beautiful junk. Christopher Lee plays the iconic titular character who some consider to be the best Bond villain ever..
Don, Anthony, Martin and Tyler discuss the 1974 movie that leads to a lot of dissension within the team. The movie is loved by some and hated by others; receiving a 9 from one of the hosts and the dreaded 1 by another. Listen along to find out whether this movie is rightfully called ‘A Symphony In Beige’.
You better look out for:
- Very subtle product placement by Tabasco and Nikon.
- AMC Hornets doing things that AMC Hornets weren’t designed to do.
- A donnybrook between two hip girls and an entire karate school while Bond just stands by.
- And of course, everybody’s favourite character from Live And Let Die, sheriff J.W. Pepper.
Don interviews Robert Sellers about his new book, When Harry Met Cubby, in our latest podcast. Have a look at our website because you can win a copy of the book!
The 00 Files celebrates its very first birthday! In this podcast Martin, Tyler, Anthony and Don look back on their first year of podcasting. They discuss all the highs and lows, some books they read, trips they made and their plans for the future. Along the way they receive birthday wishes from some fellow Bond fans:
- The Rookie Agents from OHMSPod
- Dan and Tom from Spy Movie Navigator
- Matt and Edgar from The James Bond Complex
- Joe from Being James Bond
- Terry from Oddjob Pod
- David from The Bond Experience
- Pete and Matt from From Tailors With Love
- Tom from James Bond Radio
- Calvin Dyson from, well... Calvin Dyson
In the podcast we announce our special James Bond Birthday Bonanza quiz with no less than 49 questions! If you do the quiz, you have a chance to win one of three copies of the CD Shaken and Stirred by David Arnold.
You don’t need to have ALL 49 questions correct, you just need to do the quiz: forms.gle/khH7hjQwv81T8m4YA
A new month (hell, even a new year!), a new movie review. This time we take a look at Moonraker. I think it's the most fun I've had during a recording session.
