My guess is the Italian location doubles for somewhere else, which is obviously not uncommon in Bond or other blockbuster films. At least the architecture of this particular location is visually interesting and doesn’t necessarily say “Italy” to me in the way that Venice or Rome does.
I think familiarity is a factor. When the Bond producers know a country and the location scouts, casting directors and local film crews there they tend to find it easy to go back many times.
But then again, Bond‘s been more often in the Bahamas whereas those were last seen in ‘06...
Looking at the lengths of the PTS in the other 23 Bond films that have them, excluding the gun barrel sequence (where they have one) and the title credits after, the approximate duration for each film's PTS are below.
For most of the series the PTS is typically no more than 5-6 minutes, but there are five films in double digits. The average for all 23 PTS is about seven minutes.
I think the PTS for Bond25 could be one of the longer ones, to explain the new situation, if we see a time jump with DC's grey hair and he is with Madeleine and no longer with MI6, as he appeared to quit at the end of Spectre.
Interesting. the longer lengths are usually in relation to the bigger the action setpiece is. I remember TWINE being the longest because it featured both the bank fight and the boat chase. If the PTS doesn't involve Bond at all as some speculate, in relation to FRWL, LALD, and TMWTGG, it'll probably be shorter. If this is Bond's cottage, then ****'s about to go down and it could even take twenty minutes. If Bond is in it i want a snowmobile chase with machineguns to make up for the lack of action in Austria.
I don't think there is any point in keeping this thread they way it's used now, I can't tell it apart from the Bond25 discussion thread. Close it or police it better.
True, but that wasn't my point. Members seen to treat this thread and the Bond25 pretty much the same, a Place to post rumours and unofficial stories and discuss them. The intention of this thread was to have a thread where members who weren't interested in reading tthrough all that just to keep up with the facts. This thread was for veriefied, official news only. If it's not, what's the point of keeping it? As others have pointed out, the Bond news and dicussions are spread out on too many threads now.
My inclination is to keep it open, since it's a popular thread, but if a lot of members ask for it to be closed then I'll do that.
As stated earlier, I'm trying to avoid spoilers so everyone please use "Report" or send me (or Sir Miles) a PM in case I miss something in this thread.
Is N24 correct? Was this thread only for posting news? No discussion? If so, people need to bring factual news to Barbel's attention and he can post the link.
IMO this thread was doomed to fail before it even began. The idea of a thread with only factual news is good, but there will always be a fine line in people's own minds, and humans will be humans. I say merge the lot.

It would be unrealistic to expect no discussion whatsoever after a piece of news was posted.
And I'm not the judge of what is factual news and what isn't, in this age of fake news and biased media.

I'd rather try and fail than not try at all. This thread was created by request after discussion.
No merging possible, I'm afraid.
Online now, the text gets the Bond25 release date wrong, it says its Valentine's day, and it also says: "Cameras began rolling on Bond 25 earlier this year..." which maybe why its the March/April issue. And oddly it says,. "In one corner, set builders are armed with packets of nails and hammers. In another, stunt co-ordinators are running through that day’s shooting schedule."
Anyway, the important stuff is DC confirms that Bond25 is his last film and he declines to comment on Boyle's departure.
Mmm, it was definitely a great idea and we sure tried, but unfortunately it hasn't really worked like we hoped it would. "Factual" is a difficult concept, especially for B25 news with all the websites, social media pages etc posting "exclusives" that can't really be verified by us at this stage.
If all these different threads concerning B25 must coexist, why not use the factual news one to only discuss news CONFIRMED by EON or high crew members? 8-)

That was certainly the initial idea.
But if you post a story and literally say "I've never heard of (insert source here)" you're probably in the wrong thread.

And that’s the problem. I stand by the fact that this thread is a good idea. It just doesn’t seem like we are capable of using it properly. It’s not entirely our fault though. This is an era of misinformation unlike any other.
“a lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes " ) same with fake news, I suppose. We're simply all so Hungry for news,
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."

By 1981 Italy was already a great Bond-themed holiday with Sardinia, Venice and Cortina. Now with 4 more locations it's unstoppable!

I've never heard of Beyond magazine (https://beyondmags.com/) but its March/April issue appears to have a bonafide interview with DC. https://twitter.com/beyondmags/status/1104290726068641792

Other than that it's a pretty vanilla interview.
The funny thing is.. ‘Risico’ is actually Dutch, I’ve heard the Dutch use it, I believe the Italians use ‘risco’ ?
. Risico.

It reminds me of what comedy television shows often do: take real footage from an interview but record your own questions on a recreated set.
Factual News thread my arse.
