New edition of The Rake through the letter box this morning, found myself Bond-ing with Eddie Redmayne.

Also wonderful article on the continuation DB5 launch at Stoke Park.

That shot is ruined by the fact that they actually forgot to screw down the crown...

Anybody know the timeframe of when Omega will allow the NTTD Nato to be individually purchased like the last one?

Omega isnt exactly throwing out new watch releases like nike does new shoes, so at what point does continuous delays start to get to a point where they just say ok we cant keep pushing certain things back bc of this movie because as massive of an audience Bond draws in, they’ll be the first to tell you there’s plenty of non Bond related fans that buy plenty of Omega. But with that said, the massive amount of people that have been drawn to them bc of Bond cant be dismissed. Just very curious with how much certain brands are willing to wait either legally or financially until they say its starting to mess with their timeline of products. Maybe as a luxury brand and as long as they have a some here and there being bought it doesnt really mess with their numbers? Im not an expert, but have wondered how delays do or dont affect high luxury brands with release timelines.

You can purchase it through omega now with a special order directly from them. Call customer service and they can set you up.

What delay are you speaking of? The watch is out. Stock seems to be limited (or maybe metered is the right term), but they aren't holding anything back. Ditto the clothing brands.

And on that tip, if the clothing brands are paying attention to Barbour or N Peal or Billy Reid, they know they can still sell the kit for years afterward. A delayed release probably means more sales, ultimately, giving fence-sitters more time to pull the trigger.

Yeah, it might even weirdly be better for them this way: if the film comes out and turns out to be a complete stinker -the worst Bond film ever- it might turn people off buying the products. But as long as all there is are lots of shots Daniel Craig looking cool wearing the stuff and an exciting trailer then they're golden :D

Good point, it just seems like in the past more stores had them available as well as various straps/bands etc. all around the launch of the movie but because of the delay it seems as though they are playing it a bit more close to the vest/maybe more “exclusive” is a marketing strategy as well. You kinda gotta do a little work to get it this go around. I know the watches definitely wont be considered “old news” and will be purchased yrs to come but at the same time I was wondering marketingwise at what point do they focus more on future projects.

Thanks man, my local store that carries Omega definitely told me they weren’t available but should be at some point. Saw your post and did just that, called the closest actual Omega store instead and you were right. Thanks!

Would you kindly share your experiences with the tendency of the watches material to get scratched?
Does ist easily acquire scratches at neuralgic points?
    Thanks!

I've worn mine every day since I bought it, so it's had a good couple of months of 'wear and tear' - and I don't tend to protect my watches too much, they get knocked around and bashed due to my, slightly, clumsy nature! I am pleased to say that it doesn't appear to have a single mark or scratch on it at the moment.

Did anybody else receive this email from OMEGA promoting a free watch care kit with any purchase?

I wonder if it is worth asking for one as I recently ordered the 007 NNTD edition?

Yes, I received it. Although haven't looked in detail yet so not sure what the watch care kit consists of?

I think you should certainly be entitled to one though!

Apologies for confusion VegasBond. I meant I too had received the email but hadn't read it properly yet or looked at the Omega site.

Looks to be an update on that. I cannot find any close up images or images of contents but this is what comes up on www.omegawatches.com when you add a qualifying watch.

I ordered my NTTD Omega watch a few days before the free "watch care kit" offer came out, so I reached out to Omega and they happily FedEx'ed me the watch kit (for free) - which was very kind.

It comes in a nice black leather case and includes a stiff bristled brush, cleaning spray, and both a gray and black microfiber cleaning cloth (as well as a "How to clean your Omega watch" guide). Not bad for free, but certainly nothing exciting enough to pay for.

Nice of them to post you one out for free. Thank you for posting your picture and enjoy your new watch in good health.

    That's rather worrying for owners.

I think Omega should be doing an official recall for all those supplied with the original bracelet and give customers the option at least to have it replaced at Omega's expense. It shouldn't be down to customers having to contact Omega themselves.

However, if you refuse the recall replacement (due to wanting the watch to remain screen accurate) would this mean the warranty becomes void and you have no claim in the event of a strap failure..? ?:)
